Ok… So I always hated the chief/cortana love story crap. And I know some people liked it. Either way this game totally portrays her as a psycho obsessed girl. I mean the part where the builders take the cryptum away and she screams JOHN! And the numerous references to the Chief being hers like a possession. All I thought was this is MISERY by Stephen King in a video game.
So no matter where the story goes, that whole love trope better be squashed. Before I found her needy and annoying and possessive but now she is full on restraining order crazy pants.
I have to agree with what Frank said about Cortana, the Ghost of Cortana. I have stated in other forums, but I believe two things. 1 if this is the real Cortana, which I don’t agree with, she hasn’t been healed from rampancy just cured. Meaning she was cured of rampancy but the damages caused by it were not healed. Example smallpox, people can be cured of smallpox but if they were blinded by it, even after being cured they are still blind. 2 This Cortana is one of the rampant parts of Cortana. This one I agree more with due to the fact that Cortana was with Chief after the Didact’s ship got blown up. Also Frank calling this new Cortana the Ghost of Cortana. Also why would Cortana change how she looked. The armor on her is cool, but if this was really Cortana she wouldn’t change this much, she hasn’t changed in the last four games.
She is totes Chief’s crazy ex gf now.
