Having just watched LateNightGaming’s video - youtube.com/watch?v=1KlVqk8IpNo where he says he is done with Halo and YouTube for a short while, also pointing out why he’s done with the top comment from him saying that the big Halo YouTubers not say anything that needs to be said about why Halo 5 sucks (because of Microsoft) and overall this tops off what has been a hard week for him. This will be the death of Halo if Microsoft are going to this length to keep their heads above water and overall I’m with LNG on this one because I have tried to like Halo 5 over the past 8/9 months and I just can’t from the clearly re-written story, microtransactions and overall lack of content from launch to now there still is not a lot to answer for the full price I spent on this game. I know that not everyone will agree with LNG and me on this one but like Jack Nicholson once said “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH” and clearly Microsoft and the community (not everyone in the community) can’t because the truth hurts
I agree that the truth needs to be spread, but I still like halo 5 a lot. The story doesn’t really affect me to make me think of it as a lesser game and I have no idea how people can hate on halo 5’s microtransactions. The content, I agree, was way too little.
I don’t think its that people can’t handle the truth, I think its just that most people have the common sense not to take a random you tubers words as gospel truth.

I’m not quitting Halo 5 because of a YouTuber, I’m just saying I believe the what he says because I’m not happy that I paid full price for a shell of a game that was cleary tampered with by Microsoft

You have proof of course ? Please share it ! I’ll agree, I’m not happy with Halo 5, but changes are coming imo, I think Halo 6 will be a play anywhere title, I’m hoping for great things, like I posted before, I’m not pre ordering Halo 6 as things stand, but I won’t write off, not yet.

Not that im saying it was ok to have it so barebones at launch but it seems a little weird at this point when content issues are much less of an issue with to complain about lack of content. I think most people realise microsoft played to much of a part in H5 development but hopefully with how things have been built up over time and play tested a lot (lesson learned from H4) this will only mean good things for H6.
I have to agree about the campaign, it was pretty bad and should be been bigger and better but hey i have spent money on worse games. Overall it comes down to giving constructive feedback where possible. 343 have demonstrated that they listen when enough people voice an opinion.

Look at the end of the day the fault falls on the developer of the game! It it’s 100% their responsibility to make sure the game goes in the right direction. It was 343’s responsibility to check with Microsoft to make sure the direction they were go one was where they wanted it to go. It’s 343’s responsibility to make sure advertising and build up matches the game. Also whether you like or don’t like Halo any more why does it matter whose fault it was? Does finger pointing some how change why you no longer like it? I am glad he is leaving YouTube for awhile. People like him aren’t helping anything. this is why Halo and the community is dying IMO, 343 are powerless to stop Microsoft and would get fired if they did

A lot of the complaining has been to help halo, and that’s what LNG is trying to do. If we yell at Microsoft, we could get them to lay off 343 a bit so they could make halo 6 great.
I’m not really sure what your trying to discuss here?
Is halo 5 perfect, hell no. The campaign is utter garbage and was released with far too little content. However the gameplay is hella fun, and they keep adding new stuff that keeps me hooked. Just saying 343 is lazy, isn’t going to change anything for the better.
The things I like I’ve praised and the things I dislike I’ve made known, but overall I enjoy it. If you don’t like it then don’t play it. Sell the game. We live in a capitalist system, vote with your wallet if you feel strongly about it, but otherwise they have no real obligation to pander to you.
And if you want to bring up about how some youtubers are “Corrupt” then that’s just idiotic. To make a youtube channel dedicated to a game you have to be a fairly big fan boy, and so its logical that many will think the game shines rainbows, and theres nothing wrong with that. Only idiots base their opinion of something on a small pool of people.
realise that you critique a game because you love a game
Now don’t get me wrong on this, I am a good friend of LNG and I have been making videos with Ultimate Halo for quite a while now, but please don’t take everything LNG says as gospel truth.
His sources sound somewhat reliable but have been filtered through numerous people and I know he only wants the best for the franchise.
Personally I find it difficult, we need to be constructive but it can be hard to critique the games because we do rely on the support of 343 and MS for support us so we can support the games both pre and post launch.
We’re not corrupt, some of us are more genuine that others but we don’t try sell out at a click of a finger from a publisher.
For example we don’t always make videos showing the downsides all of the time because it can create toxicity and we don’t want to be too positive because we get called shills and sellouts. It’s like being the devs really, we can’t do good because we will get slated and if we do bad then it creates tension and people don’t like it.
Either way, I am asking to please realise it is not as easy as you think to hold a position in the community and fight all sides.
If this post does not get locked, please be constructive and realise that game development is easy and problems happen and Halo 5 did remarkable if the ‘leaks’ are in fact true because the fact it even came out in the first place is a testament to the drive the guys at 343 have.
