I spent a few hours building a breakout map last night. Saved it often because I feared a storm would knock out my electricity. I try to edit today and the screen is stuck in some odd limbo, I can’t do anything except open the pause screen. Forge menus do not appear, can’t add a single item, and none of my creations are present.
when I play a custom game on it, the map loads as planned. Alas, it is not finished
I’m guessing the file became corrupt. The map may be lost forever. Fine, move on. But 343i please look into this.
I think you may have forgotten to add respawn points. In forge you spawn on respawn points an if you don’t have them your game freezes. You can usually fix this with having a friend join you and place a respawn point.

You deleted your spawns. Your map is forever gone bro
discovered that. But there is more. Even without spawns, you can still access forge. But after some experiments, I’ve concluded that having initial spawns without standard respawn points (like in a breakout map) will cause this glitch. But, if you have no spawn points at all, and try to respawn or open the forge map again, it will open and work find. Very peculiar.

^ this. If having 1 friend join doesn’t work, then try having another person join.

Direct your friend to create a standard respawn point and you will have full control again. Thanks for the tips folks. Don’t worry my friend helped me fix it. I appreciate the offer though. I hope they can fix this unusual bug someday.
