Correlation length of USB cable and performance?

I am thinking of switching from battery operated wireless to USB connected controller and was wondering if there was any correlation between the performance as it relates to length? e.g. the longer the cable = not as responsive?

Does anyone have any suggestions on cable brand or specifics?

I don’t believe the length of the cable will affect gameplay noticeably, unless it goes for a few hundred meters. Go for any cable you want but do note the more expensive ones are generally nicer (not exactly better) cables.
