Correct me if I'm wrong

Didn’t you use to have to melee a boarded vehicle a couple times before you could plant a grenade in previous Halos, or has it always been this way? I can’t remember.

In Halo 2 I believe you did.

In Halo 2 I think? Maybe 3?

Anyway, this sounds like a good idea for Halo 5.

In Halo 2 you could only melee, but in all the other Halos after, you could just plant grenades in them.

It would actually be nice to see something like that in wz. Currently vehicles are very easy to destroy with active camo

Halo 2 needed melee but halo 5 meleeing vehicles is super slow compared to others -_-

Copy thanks guys. I just couldn’t remember. But yeah this whole time I was thinking even if it hadn’t been implemented before, it definitely needs to be this way for 5 for sure.

The first couple of times i boarded, I would melee the vehicle. Know I realize its simple to drop the grenade.

Yeah, not sure if they all were like that, but you had to punch out the doors to plant a grenade. That was appropriate balancing IMO and I wish they’d bring it back.

Halo 2: You had to melee the canopy open, then you could plant the grenade.

All others: You could melee the vehicle to death or instantly plant a grenade.

Halo 2 only

Honestly 343i should introduce some change to tank destruction since it can be barely worth it to use them at all. The simple board-and-plant mechanic was good for Heavies and BTB because the tanks were part of the map and considered the “team’s” so others would help defend them more often, so the time it took to destroy them needed to be shorter. But now in Warzone they are not, and there are much more angles from which to be attacked on a WZ Map than a standard BTB/Heavy map, so a revert to the Halo 2 method would be wise.

They should implement something like that. Heavy vehicles especially are just too slow/easy to destroy by boarding or even small arms fire. Your life expectancy can end up being significantly lower if you bust out a tank. I tend to sell all my wraith/scorpion/mantis cards when I get them

It has always been this way, play MCC, boarding was introduced in Halo 2.
