Yea, I bought the chonmage set, and I’d have bought cat ears if I could cross core them and be a kitty samurai. But I guess 343i doesn’t like money.
It was mentioned on a recent stream. Someone posted a thread with some notes they made. Here you go:
The bots already use mixed cores. They are literally gatekeeping.
Please don’t discuss body types here. We’re talking about cross core customization and that doesn’t really have anything to do with body types. Also discussing body types locks threads, and this topic deserves discussion (so does the other, but… you know…)
Yeah we need more cross core customization. There’s a lot of stuff that could work on both the Mark vii and mark v (b) armor cores, especially the coatings. Although I imagine in the future the plan is to have some crazy armor cores so maybe not everything will work with every armor core. But at least with the Mark vii and v (b) those armor pieces and especially coatings should be cross core.
I guess because reach never had cat ears as a helmet attachment so they didn’t bother to allow us to equip it on our reach helmets.
Yet they have a halo reach character’s helmet as a weapon charm included in the bundle
Well they’ve released new Reach armor both in Infinite and MCC. So it’s not like they’re against adding new content to the MK V [B] core.
Yeah and the colors aren’t the same either so what gives? Give us the damn ears for reach armor
It’s sad because when I first saw people running around with the ears I thought the best combination been with Kat’s armor
Extra money… Oh the emperor what are people spending money on
Extra work = extra money can help, shows that they’re able to earn the consumer trust more.
There are female body and voice options if you go to Body and AI in the customization.
I would have to say that this is untrue. Bots have shown us that different cores can use different armors and accessory combinations that are not open to the players. You can see a bot with the Mark 7 Core, the Yokai helmet, and with a Reach accessory. Cores mean nothing in the code as all are compatible with each other.
Body types, not really.
Honestly this whole “armor cores” thing is just unnecessary. Just give us an armor and let us customize that piece by piece, whatever we have. The bots can do that already.
It’s just them being arbitrary for the sake of making money. I mean, they take these duplicates and add them to the value of a pack, it’s not a mistake.
What’s dumber about it is that it’s taking value away from their sold goods by having it be this way. These items would be just as (or even more) valuable if they were cross-core.
If it was all cross-core within reason, whales would still buy. Players would be satisfied. The million dollar company would still make their money, and we all would have more fun.
Don’t complain, the first idea was to sell each of the ears for $ 10. it was a good idea. You could buy just one left ear …
The next thing will be to buy the gun barrel hole for $10 or you won’t be able to shoot …
Seems like there was and still is a lot of miscommunication between marketing, asset creators, the store organizers, and community management.
I’m sure many people are gonna shill out for the cat ears anyway but they aren’t friends of mine, lol.
*Billion dollar company
Halo Infinite has generated the most revenue to-date than any of the other single releases.
It’s going to be hard convincing Microsoft or 343i’s upper management to do anything differently. I firmly believe they’d make significantly more money if the store items were half their current price.
It’s hard for these companies to judge the value of their products, since there are millions more gamers than there were 10 years ago and they’re still looking at sales charts from back then and thinking they’re doing better than they were.
Nah dude, the supply of gamers is just that much larger that even a crappy launch of a beloved franchise title will generate half a billion dollars in the opening week. They could be making so much more if the prices were reasonable. It’s like they’re seeing the 20k people buying the $20.00 armors and thinking “Wow I can’t believe we got away with that.” When they could be seeing 100k people buying a $10.00 armor. ideally, for us, the store items would all be priced at some fraction of the battle pass, and not exceeding its value at $10.00.
I really like how they seperate both shoulder pieces by a few levels too… (Ps I HAAATE IT!)
Yeah wtf is up with that? I mean obviously it’s to fill space so they aren’t giving us our money’s worth of content.
Somebody in 343i’s marketing and monetization office is scoffing at us as we speak at the idea that they’d ‘give away’ 100 unique items for $10.00.
Bro even Fortnite did this better, and it’s been sucking money out of middle-aged mothers’ purses around the world since they began monetizing it.
