In terms of current gameplay only:

  1. Controls:
    It took two days to get my controller sensitivity close to that of halo 5 and MCC. Still not right. Have working memory issues so remapping my keyboard and mouse were really challenging in terms of making a layout that works for limited finger dexterity. I can’t map the same button to do something with a double press on an elite controller. That’s pretty much it for controls.

  2. Weapons:
    The disruptor has a long cool down and a short “magazine” which keeps it from being really fun.

The sidekick feels like it flies all over the screen despite hours of tuning settings. It also has a short magazine and the reticle doesn’t condense enough when smart link. Bloom makes it much harder to use on top of everything.

Pulse Carbine
Does not feel reliable at medium range or mid-long like the BR. The grouping of projectiles seems borked :c

BR is a little slow and was faster to draw before

Commando fires too slow and the recoil mechanic is very strong. It’s hard to be consistent with it at any range.

The shock rifle is great but it fires like a projectile instead of at the speed of light despite the lighting sniper vibe.

Mangler is fun but could use a faster reload. Doesn’t make sense for Spartans to not use a quick reload tool for a weapon which rotating chambers. Just look at quick reload revolver tools if you don’t know what I mean.

Plasma pistol is not as viable because it fires slow and does little damage when in use as a pistol so it’s overshadowed by other items in the sandbox for both this and stunning vehicles.

Bulldog should be one shot at very close range and two shot at the other effective ranges to give it the utility of the mauler and original shotgun in a faster paced game.

The heatwave seems to not do much damage unless you set the reticle vertically and hit one target at a time. I don’t really enjoy it personally.

Sentinel beam heats up too fast and doesn’t cool down in your back pocket. Think of the Spartans buns.

Needler seems less effective at medium range and deteriorates below that range.

Stalker rifle is something I avoid because it demands too many shots for a weapon filling a sniping roll in a very fast paced environment.

The skewer is great but very low ammo count and long reload. Can the banished not manage a repeating crossbow in lieu of a regular crossbow?

Cinder shot is okay but tricky. It’s like a new take on a plasma caster but I’d rather the latter. Miss it.

Ravager is on my avoid list, don’t even know where to start with it. Maybe re-workable as a brute shot?

Hydra is not fun like it’s last iteration. Too weak and slow. Straight shots take one more than you can usually fire when someone pops up at medium range.

I miss a lot of weapons from Halo 5 like the pistol for it’s utility and plasma caster for clearing out campers.

Too few BR spawning points
Sword lunge distance is too short or speed boost is too low to catch up with quickly back tracking opponents.

  1. Equipment:

The Shield wall Panels disintegrate quickly.
The thruster pickup is more like Halo 4 and I strongly preferred the H5 mechanics in this case.
Not enough equipment pick-up locations/slow respawn.
Missing a lot of the classic pickups like jump jet and halo 3 staples. Speed boost was a blast

  1. Grenades:
    They are in their best place in a while. Just missing the fire grenades which are preferable to the ravager.

  2. Sound:
    Lots of issues. No sound randomly, can’t tell where I’m being shot from because I can barely hear the shots at all which results in no shields by the time I can tell I’m being shot. Can’t hear heavy footsteps from metal boots¿

  3. Vehicles:
    Brb has very few wraith or scorpion spawn locations and too few spawns per game. Haven’t been able to try either yet. Valhalla and blood gulch had a good vehicle spawn setup for even play.
    Wasp is nerfed.

  4. Maps
    Maps have random invisible holes in the ground where you can get stuck and there are very few BTB and 4v4+/- maps considering the vast pool of hits that could have been iterated on over 6 years of development. 343i should have offered WyvernZu a job if they were having trouble pumping out maps. Watch one of her forge videos/ streams and you know she could have pumped out maps like you wouldn’t believe. Some of the forge hub community could have been on-boarded as well.
    There’s just not enough maps and they lack interesting game loops.

  5. Game types:
    I miss action sack, especially fiesta.
    I really miss big team heavies.

I’d love to not only choose what modes but also what maps with each mode selected to ensure an enjoyable experience in casual playlists.

  1. Miscellaneous: The marking system would be more usable as a double key/button press, especially if usable after death in case you drop a power weapon and don’t want to talk to people.

I hope this helps and these are my thoughts, you are encouraged to think for yourselves. I admit, some weapon mechanics go over my head.
