Core Defense (Would you want this WZ gametype)?

So, a lot of people have been wanting firefight to return in some form in Halo 5, Warzone is the closet thing, but some are still not happy.

So, here is my idea on a new gametype that could FF into Halo 5, while keeping it fresh and new!

Player count is that of 12 player (1 WZ team), team colors would be off, reqs are active, as this is a WZ gametype. so it is a Player vs AI set up, the intro animation can be the WZ assault on with the drop pods, Palmer can say something like, “enemies are attempting to destroy our core, Defend it until evac arrives Spartans!”. They could use the home base of one of the teams and put kill barriers around the area so that players don’t leave. Then you can have phantoms bring covenant or have Promethean warp in. AI mini bosses of both factions would spawn in and have the singular goal of destroying the core, but would stop to fight players if the need comes. so they would push forward.

The game would last for about 15 minutes, or until the core is destroyed. If the players defend the core and make it to the 15 minute mark, the game would end and a unique win animation would play. Spartans walking to the end of a legde (beach on Apex 7) or (metal platform on Storm break), and 3 pelicans flying over head and Palmer saying something like, “Evac has arrived”
If the player loose and the core is lost, then the end animation would be the core blowing up, and Palmer could say, " enemies have destroyed our core"
Players could get 1500 req points, between that of arena and warzone.

Players would be scored on kills, boss kills, deaths, and assists.

So, I know this sounds like a lot and it is, but it also would allow for Warzone to have that FF feel, while keeping things fresh.

Thanks!

Sounds cool. I would play it.

ok, so a friend actually gave me another idea for another Core defense game type, this one is called Core Defense Ultra, I know, not to creative but it works, this one is structured more similar to classic FF. In this game type, the intro animation is the same and Palmer lines are the same too, but instead it only being 12 players, it gets boosted to the max 24 player count, no team colors, all on the same team, imagine that, FF with 24 players.

You still defend the core, but the time is now unlimited. each player has 3 lives and once all lives are gone, they will stay dead until all enemies from that round are dead, then 1 life will be added to each player. Enemies appear more frequently and in larger numbers, more enemy vehicles appear as well along with more bosses. Reqs are available, vehicles are available to players in this game type along with everything else.

Games end goal is similar to before, defend the core, but now you have to survive 10 rounds with unlimited time. some news lines might be, “Initiating Round 1” and “Round 1 completed” and then those lines would be repeated for rounds 2-10. This in speculation would possibly be the largest gametype in H5 if it were to happen.

Edit: something I would like to point out about the first gametype is that vehicles are disabled.

Sounds good. I like the idea.

I think there could be several different modes of PvE warzone, but foremost I want to see a classic “Firefight” wherein the goal is to survive, and you can gain Reqs and access to your power weapons and vehicles by capturing and defending bases to activate the Req stations.

In terms of a format common across all modes, I think you should be allowed to spawn with whatever infinite spawn loadout you like; like a weapon handling bonus, a SMG and a Battle Rifle.

More than anything, a mode like this should push the “identity” of your character, and let you fight in your own way. Halo Reach, and to an extent 5, did a great job of letting you be your Spartan. It’s hard to immerse yourself while you’re forced to be a team color, or getting your butt kicked in Warzone. A PvE variant where you can use your weapons, your armor, and get a chance to feel like the odds are tough but ultimately fair, is something Halo needs. Besides, some of the greatest stories in the lore are about Spartans holding out against waves of Covenant. Why not capitalize on that ingame?
