Copy Reach buildings in forge to Halo 4

Can we copy maps from halo Reach forge to Halo 4? I have a couple of maps I worked intensively on and don’t want to lose them. Mainly the buildings. Highly detailed. One definitely should have been used in Multilayer. Please say yes! Give us at least 2 maps we created to copy over? Thank you for also making it so we can select our entire building for relocating on a map. Like copy and paste feature of a building to the halo 4?

Cool, and can I also bring the needle rifle and the plasma repeater with me?

Nope. Time for you to remake your maps, or start on new vetures!

That’s not going to happen. From the little I’ve seen of Forge, it’s simply not built to do that kind of thing.

This mainly for my buildings I created on one of my maps. I mean they are extremely well made. Not the quick maps you see. Pure architectural design and planned for great game play.

This will not be happening. There are going to be incompatible parts (for example, weapon spawns) which would make a cross-game transfer impossible (or not feasible). You won’t “lose” the maps per se, as they’ll always be available if you put Reach back in your disc tray, but for Halo 4, you’ll have to remake them if you want to play them in an updated setting.

Wow it took me months to do my Coagulation Core. I don’t mind setting down weapons or re-spawns again. It’s the structures of the buildings that were my concern:(

I got a solution, Don’t buy halo 4 and just keep playing Reach!

All I have to say is that there had better be classic map pieces like the center structure of Sanctuary but many, many more.

Or buy Halo 4 AND keep playing Reach… People these days…

I know that I will be remaking at least a few of my Reach maps as I’ve gotten really good at Forge and love playing these maps, it will be cool to see how much better they’ll look in 4

Ok so while we are talking about forge I have a question. If you have seen the forge video at RTX we know there are 3 forge maps to ship with the game. My question is…how much of the forge world can you explore?

Example: The forge world shown at RTX was huge but they stayed in one main spot. Can you go out to the islands and explore everything like in Reach? Or is it more limited this time around?

well I have H4 pre-ordered and paid for. I Love the game. Have every game from original Halo CE to now + the map packs and My statue is still in the original case in plastic. Still smells of fresh paint. So I am dedicated. even though I have been on that other FPS game for awhile. When I level up I am going to bounce back and forth on both before H4 so I can keep myself in tune. Oh yes Hopefully we can custom layout our controller buttons on H4. That is a must…please?

I don’t think we need to go way out on Islands but it would be nice for the local islands surrounding the maps.

True. We should get these things at our disposal:

  • the center Sanctuary piece
  • the center Ascension piece
  • the center Guardian piece
  • Valhalla/Sandtrap type Forerunner spires
  • Guardians (on map stuff that attacks players (Sandbox/Sandtrap)

and more I can’t think of

It will probably take me longer to rebuild the structures on H4 forge because I will be more busy playing the game itself. I guess I will have to allocate certain times to forge. So expect a longer time for my “Coagulation Core”. Although if we have a copy and paste of the building then I only have to do it once and C&P the other building to the other side of the map. Still they are highly detailed.

I got a better idea for you! You take that “One or the other” mentality you have, and stick it somewhere else.

As for you OP, yeah, Reach and Halo 4’s maps aren’t the same, nor is the engine coding. Try converting a Halo PC Demo Blood Gulch to the full Halo PC game, and then do the same, but this time with Halo Custom Edition, it’s all the same game and maps, but different coding, doesn’t let you convert it.

Also, it’s not something that can be done.

No you big man.

Sorry OP, you can’t. But just keep your copy of Reach and put those buildings in your fileshare. I know you’re stressed about remaking them in Halo 4, but you don’t have to, use this as an opportunity to create new things, man.
