It seems that problem with the Coop being delayed it’s the sync with old consoles. So after the announcement of the xCloud coming to Old Consoles as Xbox One and Xbox One S yesterday at the Xbox GamesCom Event gave me the idea… If until the Coop hits the old consoles natively, can’t it runs the Coop via xCloud? To play Coop Onlne you would need to be Online anyway and for Local Splitscreen it could be running a Xbox Series S version, idk
I think this could be a solution, but I ain’t a developer to know how much effort it would be needed to do something like that
To be blunt no. The game needs to be part of the game itself so I can play coop offline or online without feeling restricted to if Xbox Live or my own connection is working at the time plus I don’t like the idea of cloud only gaming and have concerns that people try too much to push the cloud only gaming future.

Well, xCloud runs perfectly in the South of Brazil, and it’s so distant for the server, that I think it runs in any place of the world! But for the second concern, I must agree

Maybe in some places it works fine but I doubt it works fine for everyone. Even minor lag can lead to making a game feel unplayable. I’ll happily take digital and physical releases over cloud gaming anytime and it’s why I refuse to go anywhere services like Google Stadia, why I would refuse to develop games for it.
