What is your favorite REQ in Halo 5, excluding how it performs in the game? (although idc if you include that anyway). Could be based on function, backstory, aesthetic, or just in general.
My personal favorites are Dying Star and the Binary Rifle, both look great and have a relatively unique function compared to most of the other weapons. I’d like to see some sort of spinoff of both weapons against the Flood (which they were specifically designed to combat).
What an awesome campaign moment would it have been, if you were about to have to trudge your way through miles of heavy enemy defense, only to have a marine drive up to you, and skid to a halt in a needle hog.
If you’ve seen me around for long enough, I’m practically synonymous with the Railgun. Compared to other power weapons, the Railgun is loud and proud, blunt as a brick, disregards subtlety, and it’s simply flatout brutal.
I’d be squealing if a full-scale replica arrived at my doorstep.

I’ve used the railgun so much to the point where I’m kind of tired of using it, but I still definitely love the weapon. Imo, it has the perfect charge time compared to Whiplash or Arclight as well, plus the sound that it makes when hitting the target is extremely satisfying.

I thought he said “never mind Chief we are going to use the super heavy MAC.”
Even though I find them quite useless in terms of gameplay, I like the idea of the Wicked Grasp/Berserker’s Claw. Ever since I started playing Halo, it always kinda bothered me that you can’t take the weapons from defeated Hunters like you can from any other dead enemy.
I love the Mantis. Something so anime-mech-ish about it, & it’s a lot of fun to use. I ran out of low tier mantises because I can’t NOT use it playing warzone. & when you give it the love of Wheelman plus damage boosts . . . Whoa. I gotta say the ONI variant is my favorite. Jet black, sleek. ONI makes ALL their vehicles look good.
I’d have to say whiplash. The look, the two shots before reloading, the quickness, the sound. Such a good weapon. They could have done better with the paint job though… What is with the art director and his obsession with green and red? He a big Christmas junkie?

would you still feel that way after the nerf that it’s getting?
The Blood of Suban is awesome! A needler with a carbine? Pure genius, useful for picking up some quick kills, and the sound is so cool. Favorite vehicle req would be the Phaeton Helios, I love the design and how it operates.

Blood of Suban is just so much fun, I was really disappointed when needler rifle never made a true comeback.
And any type of sniper really, though probably more-so prefer the non-OP ones because nothing beats the satisfaction when you go on a streak of hitting all headshots and having it actually matter.

I heard about increased charge times - which makes it less flexible overall - and that’s a real shame in my opinion. I tend to be the danger-close guy while using this thing, clearing out rooms while under heavy fire. As much as I’m saddened that this thing has been toned down, I’ll see it as a new challenge to improve my skills and not take it as something that’ll rob me of using my favorite weapon.
Besides, Bionicled seems really interested to see me in action with the Railgun.

I keep up with pretty much all the news updates and matchmaking updates, and haven’t heard anything about them adjusting the needle hog. Maybe an announcement slipped through the cracks on me though I guess.
Dying star for the after affect since it takes three shots to disintegrate.
Razors edge for the sound effects and the satisfaction of the needler effect.
White Scar for the proximity trap especially when attacking/defending the core.
Void’s Tear for the vortex and pulling in objects.
Scale of Soirapt and Halo 2 Delta Beam Rifle for the aesthetic purposes.
Ad Victoriam and ProPipe for the guiding laser targetet.
The last weapon is the SPNKR Ex for the crowd control perk.
