Cool things they shoud've put into the game

  1. Driveable mammoths on large maps

  2. Driveable Pelicans on large maps

  3. ODST drop from Infinity during 10 second pre-game (Only in BTB or something)

  4. 2-4 Seater flying vehicle

  5. Broadswords in Matchmaking

  6. Main Menu is actually In-game and you walk into different sections of the infinity to choose what game-mode you want, i.e yo walk to the Infinitys theatre for theatre. Spartan ID and such could be in your “bedroom” which you can upgrade and customize as you rank/unlock achieves. People in your party can navigate the main menu with you and check out your room e.c.t
There could also be NPC scientists walking around too. And if you navigate to the bridge Lasky/Palmer could be staring out the window.

  7. Vehicle skins

  8. High ranking ships have brute slaves working on them, and elites hyjacking brute weaponry.

  9. Buggers/Drones

  10. Sentinel Beams

  11. Interactive maps (Pushing button does X to Y)

  12. 4gb Seperate download of a Red Dead sized forge map (Ambitious I know)

More?

Please don’t post stuff like “BR BEING 4 SHOT” or “NO SPRINT” because that isn’t a creative idea at all.

I really like the ideas, especially your 6th point. That’s really interesting. The only downfall to that is when people that have turned on Halo 4 for the hundreth time it will get irritated taking a 10 minute journey, or even just one minute, to start playing War Games when they can start it in under 10 seconds with the current format. But to have the option to be able to do that would be awesome!

Maybe it should start out like a normal menu system, where you can select what you want to do, but you can exit out of that and go down to the ship itself and manually walk to the separate locations. Also there could be easter eggs and secret armour/emblems hidden on the ship for you to find.

No i would hate point 6, i have to put up with that kind of crap when playing kiddie games with my young nephews.

1)I am all for more content and variety that adds depth to the gameplay and enriches the mechanics.

2)I am vehemently against cheap gimmicks which are nothing but superficial attempts to appease small minds - normally used in games to hide shortcomings and deficiencies in the actual game itself.

Some of your suggestions could be seen as number one some the latter, which and why should be fairly obvious.

So i’m guessing you fall into the “Remove sprint add 4 shot BR category” aside from any attempt to add something fresh.

So a massive RDR sized forge world map would hide shortcomings?

The only reason I suggested point 6 is because Halo lacks any freedom of exploration, yet the whole plot of the Halo 1-4 storyline is about Human exploration and finding secret artifacts, I thought it’d seem fitting to add something into the gameplay that resembles that without completely Alienating the game and turning it into a Free Roam game from an FPS.

Just my opinion on your opnion

Your assumption is incorrect regarding my personal preferences on sprint and the BR, which is beside the point. What makes something a gimmick is not really a matter of opinion. Elaborate and contrived menu options wont actually make a game any better, rather tiresome and time consuming.

As i said some of your ideas were gimmicks, while some i consider viable.

Listen, if you are serious in creative development in video games you should watch some of these videos, i think you will enjoy them, and maybe you can use the themes and logic to develop further ideas!

I hope you enjoy: http://www.penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/aesthetics-of-play

I did not mean to come across rude or insult your ideas, creative thinking is never a bad thing!

Point No. 3 is moot because War Games-it’s a simulation.

I wanna see new enemy types-ELITE KNIGHTS! Dinos with energy shields and swords would be fresh and difficult yet not impossible to kill-especially since this is rag-tag Covenant we’re talking about. That energy dagger the Elites had in Reach would be a welcome addition.

Promethean vehicles would be nice-superfluous, yes, but nice.

Just some suggestions.

I agree on Promethean vehicles and forerunners vehicles.

The ODST drop could still work, it could be a simulation also preparing them for the real thing.

I wish there could have been more wildlife, I would have like to have seen something like Appa from Avatar(cartoon) walking around or flying for that matter. Herds of animals off in the distance, close up.

What if according to the type of helmet your wearing, the ingame HUD changes according to the helmet, kinda like the Master Chief helmet in the campaign. So it actually feels like your wearing new armor and not just the same stuff.

That reminds me, I think it would be really cool if the load screen shown the level loading around you like in Assassin’s Creed 2!
