Goddammit 343 I love Halo and I love your games and you and your videos and I want all your babbies but I cannot stand that music in all the game trailers! It’s as though someone just opened some music software on their laptop and then threw it at a wall until enough buttons were pressed that it makes a track.
Does anybody think it will be in-game a bit like ‘Syndicate’? They seemed to do it well and it seemed to fit the whole futuristic theme, but it has got to be used sparingly because - let’s be honest - it sounds atrocious when played on it’s own. Would be great to get a bit of feedback from any PAX players who may have run into some music during the menus or various gamemodes.
(This is not a rant thread, genuinely asking for a bit of feedback from Halo 4 players!!)
People like what they like. I just don’t like when people mix things I dislike with separate things I do like.
I don’t think any dubstep will be in the actual soundtrack of the game; all of the songs featured in recent trailers as far as I know have been remixes.

Conway Twitty isn’t shoehorned into every trailer for any sort of media out there today. Dubstep is and always has been a fad, and this is just another case of 343 following trends instead of setting them.

It’s just what is popular at the moment and just helps push the mainstream media attention along.
They are just trailers, and only weapon trailers at that. Come November 6th, you’ll never have to watch them again but instead get to listen to the beautiful creations of Neil Davidge and Sotaro Tojima.

If Dubstep is “in” then of course they will play some of it. Of course those songs are Halo songs remixed so it’s still their thing. But they also post the video without the music so why not just watch that? Everyone makes it sound like they can’t avoid it when they certainly can.
It’s also of note that this music is NOT in the actual game itself. It’s bonus music which you don’t have to listen to and it’s not going to be blasted at you while you play the game.

I like solace thats it, I need to listen to the whole soundtrack to judge Davidge’s work, the art trailer music was good why not use music more like that.

Well something needs to cover up the pathetic non-beefy apparant “live recording” gun sounds. Which all have a COD feel to them. Not the game, I meant the copy/paste thing. Why do they all sound the same?
All Halo games have never had in game music in MM. Apart from Firefight with the final/bonus round and Campaign.

Mainly because they are the game’s scores, they hold a different level of immersion than some short, quick, snappy weapon trailer.

I’m pretty sure the stuff in the trailers are parts of the remixes of the soundtrack, not the actual soundtrack. 343i already confirmed the dubstep stuff from the UNSC Weapons wasn’t part of the soundtrack.
