Convince me to buy or not to buy Halo 5

Having bought every single Halo at launch for both campaign and multiplayer; I’m a huge fan of the series. Or rather, was a huge fan because this year I made an exception. I refused to put down money for Halo 5, I had a very bad feeling with how the game might turn out.

I feared the game would feature a new protagonist and sideline Chief because of the ad campaign, I feared the story would be a complete disaster because of stupid the Halo 4 plot was, I feared multiplayer would be a shell of itself because of the EPIC disaster that was MCC, I feared there would be no ranks and no unlockable armors, I feared ADS and I feared the copy pasta of weapon skins that we already see in AAA games. I’m probably missing a few other points.

Right now Halo 5 is on sale and I’ve been playing the heck out of Reach, I’m in the mood for some more Halo. Convince me to buy or not to buy Halo 5.

I’m not going to do that. And I ask others to do the same. It’s not our job to try to convince you to buy this game. Hey, if you’re even asking this, I say don’t, because you’re doubting it already. So I recommend either staying or Reach or MCC.

I say to watch some gameplay on youtube and make the choice for yourself. It is pretty split. Some love it, some hate it. I have no clue if you would or not. It is different. If you don’t like change, probably going to hate it. If you are okay with change, then you might like it. But best to research it yourself.

It’s honestly up to you to decide. Some people absolutely love this game while others hate it. I am having lots of fun with it though.

I’ve not bought it, I’ve lent it off a friend. Do the same

You’d be right.

Halo 4’s story > Halo 5’s story

Multiplayer works fine. Arena is best it’s been since Halo 3. There are ranks (people are begging for non-ranked social, it’s competitive as hell), and there are like 400 million armor sets.

I like smartscope. There’s a classic BR in Warzone that’s pretty cool. Weapons skins are there, but you don’t have to use them. I don’t.

It’s not the best Halo, but it’s not the worst. Arena is awesome. Campaign is … well, story is weird, but gameplay and set pieces are great. Sanghelios is great. There are three Chief missions, 12 Locke missions, so … there’s that. I don’t know.

Here: get it on sale with low expectations. It’s worth it for the Arena. Warzone is fun with friends.

Multiplayer is the best since Halo 3. I’d get it just for that; however, because you’re doubting yourself and you feel the need to ask people online… eh, still get it.

Multi was geared towards the competitive crowd. So if you’re a casual player it will probably put a sour taste in your mouth because even the ‘casual’ playlists are still pretty hardcore.

That being said, gameplay wise, it’s the best multi we’ve seen in quite some time.

Ill simply tell you that i think this is the best halo since halo 2. The gameplay is fantastic and the weapons are balanced in the best way they have ever been. The only bad thing i have to say about the game at all is the story sucked big time. But again loooove the actual gameplay.

I would watch youtube or Twitch to see gameplay. Or if you pick it up used at Gamestop, you have around 7 days to return it for a FULL refund if you do not like the game. Basically renting for free. Or you could even rent the game.

Just keep in mind, your first 10 placement games in each Arena play list can be a bit rough. Once you get past the first 10 games, then it balances out fairly well.

Overall I personally think the H5 mp is the best mp experience I have seen in years especially with Warzone. The H5 campaign storyline is a bit meh so I would not expect much from that.

You wont like it for the first week, then you will be like this multiplayer is better than 1-4

I do not recommend buying a game based on what other players say. When I do research for a game this is hardly something of importance for me. I can state my opinion, that is about it.

I’m a pretty big Halo fan who has played them all, and Halo 5 Guardians is by far the most exciting, thrilling and edge of your seat online shooter I have played in the past few years. This is because of the rock solid gameplay, the dedicated servers, the jump to 60fps, and most importantly all the new Spartan moves.

In Halo 5 I finally feel like a versatile super soldier. Ground pounding someone to oblivion from 3 levels vertically across the map? Super soldier stuff. The new moves open up a ton of new possibilities, and because of the precise gameplay I always feel compelled to keep improving my game. There are a lot of talented players out there, and this is also motivation to get better.

I enjoyed the campaign a great deal but I only finished it once so I prefer not to engage too much in discussions about the campaign before I finish it a few more times, however by and large I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to playing it again.

Break time is over, I must now resume my quest at improving my game. Good luck with your decision and may you find a game you really enjoy if H5 does not end up being the one for you

I played Balcks ops 3 and it sucks , battefield hardline is alright but its not that good either. Halo is the best FPS game out there by far like by really far.

I don’t understand how you can criticise Halo 4’s plot, when it probably had the best Halo storyline to date.

Just buy it or don’t buy it. The campaign is short, unmemorable and poorly written, the multiplayer is perfect. If you like Halo for its campaign, don’t bother, if you like it for its multiplayer, get it.

Do not buy Halo 5.
It’s **** and the people that made it are ****.

I’d like to buy a vowel: “E”, and I’ll solve the puzzle:

“It’s [LOVE] and the people that made it are [CUTE].”

There :stuck_out_tongue:

Just buy it, or don’t. Make your own decisions. Then live with your decisions.

No one knows what you like more than you do.

No way there are 400 million armor sets. Just BS what you’ve said there.

Are you being serious? There are 191 sets. I was exaggerating because that’s a lot of armor.

If you only want to play campaign, avoid it. The story is a disaster on several levels.

If you want to play multiplayer, it could be an okay purchase depending on your preferences. Arena is much more polished and balanced than Halo 4, but it is lacking in maps and game modes. Warzone is a fun mode that has long matches and some back-and-forth action, though it has some imbalance and repetitivity issues.
