Controversial Halo Opinions

Halo infinite was one of the biggest disappointments in the Halo franchise, mainly the multiplayer side.

100% agreed

Halo 3 autoslayer is amazing

Precision starts sucks

One opinion i have that most will be annoyed with is that 90% of the villian characters in the halo games are cooler than chief.

And

Halo Infinite Skirmishers are hot

you can disable auto-clamber which apparently helps a lot of people

a very controversial one: melee is outright obnoxious. yes I know it’s always been there and honestly I wouldn’t want to play without it. BUT, seeing somebody lunge, almost teleport, 50ft to smack me out of sheer panic will always annoy me

Sprint is fine and camber has added a refreshing element to multiplayer. Cry all you want about nade and crouch jumping but it’s made the game accessible to kids who are garbage

I just wish if I side jump into something and hit a to do it, it would allow me to. If you’re off by a hair it doesn’t count.

I feel like behemoth is in a strange point where it’s too big and open for 4v4, but too small for btb

I’ve been using this strat since Halo 2

Using only the BR all the time in Halo 3 is totally boring

Halo 3 felt kinda rushed and short and the best thing about Halo Reach was that Live Action Trailer. Otherwise it was kinda typical prequel affair creating drama where there didn’t need to be any and pointlessly recontexualizing the main games. And it was kinda meh all round.

  1. Fred-104 is the best Spartan, and Chief should not be the protagonist ever again. In fact, Chief should just be killed off for good because otherwise the franchise will get even more stale under him than it already is!
  2. Halo 3 is not as good as everyone thinks it is. Halo Infinite is actually worse. So much for 6 years of development, and it still ended up being so subpar.
  3. The Halo franchise has always been weak in the storytelling department, mainly in the games. H2 and H4 were the only good ones story-wise, but at least CE and 5 are actually decent.
  4. Reach, 4, and 5 introduced the best armors in the franchise. Centurion, Achilles, Grenadier, Mark VI MOD, Mark V Commando, Argus, Hermes, Recruit, Recon, Warrior, Scout, Deadeye, Helioskrill, and FOTUS.
  5. Halo needs more heavy metal music. I would love to destroy Escharum while “Make Me Understand” from Serious Sam 4 plays in the background!

Halo 4 is a great addition to the canon.

Halo 5’s story wasn’t bad either.

Halo Infinite is great as well because it left so many open doors for future novels.

Halo 2’s campaign was a rushed mess.

Sprint fits in with Halo perfectly.

Serious Sam… a true man of culture

Now that’s some SERIOUS firepower!

how is that controversial when it is objectively true? i honestly think it has aged the worst.

that is certainly controversial

  1. Halo 5 is Halo’s best multiplayer…

  2. JUMPING is a ridiculous and outdated mechanic and the reason Halo can not attract new players.
New people have seen cover systems…and jumping in the air is completely lame and outdated and just a left over from before proper cover was introduced.
It needs to be basically dropped(not saying we shouldn’t be able to jump) but we need an actual EVASIVE maneuver that logically makes sense…instead of jumping like a fish out the water.

  3. Remove all delays…switching weapons, throwing grenades etc…delays have zero place in a shooting game ever!

  4. Fast paced Halo is completely superior to the slow/clunky/cumbersome old school Halo in every way and people just want the old school feel because they are used to it.

Infinite went free to play because MS/343 knew that they could get way more money out of the game this way than they would by just having DLC for campaign or even have people pay for new maps like back in the day.

Probably not entirely controversial since most monetization schemes that follow closely to this one do it for the sake of increased monetary gain over time.

Atriox is overhyped, Infinite campaign is underwhelming. Cortana has no complexity as a character post 4 than being an -Yoink!-. Her last moments of clarity, I do not feel sorry for in the slightest and am glad she’s gone. May aspiring writers look at Cortana as a character study of what not to when turning a side protagonist into the main antagonist.
