Its pretty jarring going back to other shooters after playing halo cause sensitivity options are so extremely slow,
It may, or may not be a bug, I don’t know if it’s intended, but the aiming on controller feels really tough, and is too slow. I’ve seen recommended controller configurations to “fix” the problem but it’s still not enough. The sensitivity options are just too slow even at max settings with low deadzones and all the other options to help remedy the issue; on top of having hardly any Aim-assist it makes it clear that controller performance is simply nowhere near as good as mouse and keyboard, as these settings discourage those to actually play with a controller.
I submitted a ticket about it as it may have possibly been a bug, and I know the aim assist controversy is already a debate on its own, but Controller is in a desperate of position when it comes to movement, and even a humungous aim assist buff as a remedy, it wont solve this issue, aiming simply doesnt feel good at all on console, and its completely outclassed by MnK at this state.
With this in mind I propose another Aim assist buff for consistency, on top of a major re-work of the sensitivity settings so it can at least be on par with MnK. as consistency in experience is the #1 thing, especially if this game will be a long term live service game, its important that switching platforms/or input devices is a seamless switch that isn’t detrimental in any way as both experiences should yield roughly the same results overall in gunplay and feel consistency.
Even with the normal aim assist M&K still have the advantage so I’m not sure why they made this change. I’ve even seen pro’s on stream lower their look sensitivity while playing. Hope they fix this

I think M&K will always have an advantage, which I’m okay with. But I don’t think the disparity should be as large as it is. More sensitivity options, and a bit more aim assist could remedy that.

wow you mean input that is better for accuracy is better than a joy stick? QUICK MAKE MORE POSTS saying how you need more AA. This game is going to die so quick because of controller players who are living in 2007 thinking halo 3’s AA is okay for a 2021 competitive shooter.
So yes lets buff AA, kill the game on pc like MCC and call it good when no one cares about halo in 6 months.
M&K has an advantage particularly outside of red reticule range, and having two spawn weapons with RRR’s that don’t even really cover mid-range is in my opinion the biggest problem there. Outside of RRR there’s basically zero aim assistance of any sort, magnetism, friction, whatever you can think of, which instantly gives M&K an edge. I know that M&K players are feeling their own issues with aiming at the moment, but in general without any kind of aim assist a thumbstick just cant compete with a mouse. If the Sidekick was given a longer distance on it’s RRR I think it would feel a little easier to aim, alongside a little more friction when aiming over enemies to counteract the really fast strafe speed.

It’s the underlying issues of the aim mechanics themselves not necessarily the aim assist You’re barking up the wrong tree…

Would you be satisfied with an option to limit play based on input device? Surely you understand a large portion of the Halo fanbase prefers controllers, and that they are at a disadvantage without aim assist. Having some aim assist levels the playing field to an extent, but too much and you tip the scales in the other direction. You must understand it’s a delicate balance, and if you do understand that, and why it’s hard to please everyone, then I have to ask, would you be okay with having the option to only play with other M&K players?

This guy is a obviously a biased commenter… acts like MCC no one on PC outplays controller give me a break if your one of the top PC players it doesn’t matter how much aim assist controller has PC already has the advantage with a mouse and more accurate aim… if you’re average on Mouse you’ll probably almost always get beat by controller it depends on how much time you put in and how good you are on mouse and keyboard…

Not biased at all I grew up on halo and controllers but you can literally see it in the steam numbers and what MnK streams say about the game. It is not fun at all to play a competitive game with cross inputs at all especially in halo where you get perfectly 5 shot by a controller player.
If you seriously think MnK is the “better” input go play some halo 3 comp or any 4v4 arena mode at MOST 2 of the 8 players are on mouse because most PC players quite or switched inputs.

Clearly you don’t truly know what’s best for Halo, consistency is the biggest thing, as it aligns with 343’s and Microsoft’s ideals over the franchise;
With that being said they’d want a seemless experience in which both versions of the game preform roughly the same, switching from MnK to controller should yield to give almost similar results in gameplay/gunplay. Having a lack of aim assist is hugely detrimental, on top of having almost only 20% of the sensitivity an everyday MnK player has access to, there needs to be similar consistency between all versions of the game. It’s clear right now that currently the best way to play halo infinite right now is on MnK, and their shouldn’t be a “best way” to play the game. If you can’t see that, then I can’t stay in this conversation any longer, as you’re clearly biased, and have no clue whats good for Halo as a whole.
The aim feels really bad, and i dont think that low AA is the only issue. The turn speeds and small movement corrections are very inconsistent despite setting, its almost as if the speed fluctuates. Ive tried every combo of setting in the sensitivity, acceleration and dead zones and nothing felt right. Something is off with its core design and even with a AA bump i think would still feel janky.
I think its more of a result of them trying to design the aim around both controller and MnK at the same time making them both feel sub par rather than focusing on each individually to make each input method feel as good as possible.
i Also think that MnK and controller are to vastly different to create a good balance and should stay in separate lobbies in all shooters. even the play style, map traversal and tactics of a game are all effected by the type of input and create different metas. MnK gives high levels off accuracy while maintaining high sensitivity, which is really strong in faster moving lower TTK shooters. While controller gives good fluid left stick movement which is good it higher TTK slower paced strafe battle gun fights. which also effects what players want in game design (the sprint speeds and ttk high vs low debates). In any game where both are in the same lobby, One input method will always be better. Then u get the debates on AA cheating or MnK near perfect accuracy with 180 no scope hacks ect ect.
343 should just keep them separate and then focus on balancing the aim to make it feel as smooth as possible for both MnK and Controller.

This is just misinformation. In a game where only 1/7 precision shots matter, controller will have advantage.

I don’t know why you think MCC on PC has been “killed”. The majority of players I see in every online game are using M&K.
I made a ticket regarding the slow turn speed, hopefully they address these issues before release. Unplayable for someone who is used to playing at high sensitivities.
I didn’t play in the first flight… was it like this in the first beta? Kinda scary if it was like this and they didn’t do anything about it.
Long time player of all things Halo, but also just a hardcore casual player. I love the series, and love playing it. I’m very middle of the pack, usually scoring around 10-15 kills a game, sometimes less, and very rarely, I’ll have an outrageous game where I get 20-30 kills and feel like God. I have a Series X.
I have participated in both flights, and put a number of hours into both. I absolutely am frustrated with the aiming. It feels bad. I can’t lock onto an enemy to save my life. I am always out-shot, and I’ve literally never felt this trouble in any FPS ever. I know I’m not a pro, but I’ve never finished with 2-3 kills regularly. If this is what the final product is like, I can’t see myself, nor my friends staying onboard for long. I have attempted to adjust to it, I have attempted to adjust my settings, and it doesn’t feel much better. It doesn’t feel smooth like other Halo games. H2A was basically perfect. This game could be my favorite Halo ever, I love where they are headed with literally everything… except the aiming/AA/bullet magnetism. Also, I’m noticing that my melee has zero forward momentum in this flight. The first flight, my melee felt fine. So between melee and shooting, I feel like I’m wildly attacking my own team members. It’s difficult and offputting. And I sincerely hope they find a happy medium between PC and Xbox players.

If you can’t see that, then I can’t stay in this conversation any longer, as you’re clearly biased, and have no clue whats good for Halo as a whole.
I agree there should be consistency, but that is extremely difficult to measure. And even more difficult to balance. Everyone has a bias, including you and it’s obvious which side you lean.

Sounds like someone needs to hit the academy again. Controller users literally need AA to even compete with MK users bro. I don’t understand why you’re so upset by this, you’ll still have the advantage even if we get AA.
