I play on 10.
MCC was a little restricting; sometimes I’d play one day and 10 just felt restricting.
Now on Halo 5, 10 is even less sensitive. I literally can’t pull off headshots quick enough because I feel like my guy’s head won’t turn fast enough to my thought process.
Please up the sensitivity!
Interestingly enough. I normally play on 7. I played on 9 in Halo 3. I play on 4 in Halo 5.
It’s mostly to do with the fact there is a retardedly high “dead-zone” for the stick. You can’t get as much of a rotation and as a result it’s slower. They are fixing this in a coming update so that might fix your problem.
I’ve had to lower mine down to 3. On Reach and 4 I used to play between 8 and 10, but I’m so hard on the sticks I always ended up zooming and shooting everywhere. Lowered it down to 4/5 for Halo 4 and last night pulled it to 3 for the Halo 5 and find it a lot smoother to play and aim with. Scoping with LT certainly helps my hard thumbs, I just crouch a lot now haha
On a normal controller, I was playing H5 with a 10 sensitivity and it felt a little slow to me as well. Got the tall right joystick set up on my Elite and had to bump it down to 8 and it feels just right. I didn’t think the taller joystick would make that much of a difference, but it definitely did for me…or it might be all in my head.
I play on the default setting, and still get first place in kills every game.
get rekt nerds
Lower sensitivities are nice for being able to focus your shots. As you practice with a higher sensitivity (takes some time) you can still get comfortable yet the main reason I choose the higher rate is because I like knowing if I get shot in the back I can still turn around and land the kill - Reversal
I would really love an elite controller but I don’t want to shell out a 1/3 price of an xbox for a controller that might break very easily. I went through five xbox one controllers already. Mainly due to NHL 16 and Forza. Very hard on analog sticks.
Since I came across this post I have turned my sensitivity up to 4, it was on 3. The game now feels, smoother somehow. Back in the other halos I would range from 5-8, but stoped because it started to mess up my ranged fights a bit.
I’m still trying to find the balance.
In halo 3 I always had it on 10.
In halo 5 the default 3 is way too slow. I found people could simply jump over me and hit my in the back before I could turn in time to get a shot off.
I upped it to 6 and it’s perfect for hip firing but I can’t land a damn zoomed sniper shot to save my life! I can no-scope like a boss though… I wish I could adjust it separately for zoomed.

Elite controllers have warranties so just get one and if it breaks get a replacement. Easy.
It would be nice to see a few more configurations in the options menu as well as said above; things like a separate sensitivity for zoomed/aiming down sights and perhaps for auto aim (hearing a lot of complaints about that too).
Thanks switch 104. Would you happen to know who replaces it? I’ve heard microsoft is pretty crummy about replacing their original controllers (taking very long and making you pay for some things, not entirely sure if it’s true or not.)
I’ve already had one replaced by gamestop where I got it. If it’s within the first no th just take it back with the receipt and after the first month you just need to get a reference number off Microsoft before you return it. The warranty is for 12 months
