Controller pre-sets - Right Bumper Reload (Halo 3 default - Recon in Reach)

With all the talk about the various changes for Halo CE: Anniversary, one thing that has been on my mind was if there would be additions to the controller pre-sets for players to choose from.

Once Halo 3 hit, I fell in love with being able to reload with the right-bumper, and that has been my preferred controller layout ever since (Halo Reach gave us the “Recon” option).

Does anyone know if there is any word on a controller configuration like this? Simply moving the “X” reload command to the trigger? Thanks!

I was just bringing it up as a controller option to choose from. Having the classic controller default setting is a given, but more options for controller settings aren’t ever a bad thing. I was thinking it would be cool for those who will be hopping between Reach MP and Halo CE Anniv. campaign to have controller options that would mirror those in Reach (which one of those allows reload on the bumpers - reloading without taking the thumb off the analog). Completely optional right?

I heard in one of the Sparkast that some of the button layouts would be available such as Bumper Jumper and Recon. I don’t know all of the button layouts but as I said I believe they discussed these two in one of the Sparkasts as being available.

Ah, awesome! Thanks for the info!!!

There will be several new pre-set button layouts for CEA. I know Bumper Jump will return, and I think Recon will, too. Plenty of others are likely to be in there.

Sure anytime.

As I recall, the Sparkast said that you will have to readjust your settings for Reach multiplayer. Since the original Xbox controller had fewer buttons, and since 343i isn’t changing the game’s code, I doubt more options will be available.

Dude, what’s your problem? If people want button layouts similar to what they’re used to, then let them have it. There will be one for people like you who want the original Halo experience, but me personally, I want one similar to Reach so I don’t have to deal with drastically different button layouts every time I switch. Plus, I really like Reach’s layout. One of the things it did right.
