It sucks. I was the biggest Halo fanboy. had the “I kicked your -Yoink!- in Halo 2” shirt from the Bungie store. Had Halo 2 glass set, the license plate frame on my truck that said “My other ride is a Warthog”. Had the Halo 2 cardboard pop up with Chief holding two SMGs that I won at a LAN tournament.
Just got to let it rest in peace. 343i killed Halo.
I bought every Halo MLG episode off the Xbox store back in the day and would skip school occasionally acting sick to rewatch them over and over. Lol My first ever computer background was Halo 2 double SMG screenshot. I’ve replayed every Halo game launched so far at least twice a year for 10 years going. My first time going across country was to go to Dallas 2010 as a 14 year old with a rando I meet online to compete in the first Reach tournament for pro am. I consider Halo CE to be my favorite game ever created. I adore the game. RIP real Halo.

Ok while getting an immediate game would suffer sure and thats what 343 is trying to prevent by keeping that button away. That exact button could be what brings back a lot of players. Think about it my biggest concern is i dont want to play with pc and there are many like me and on the oppisite end where pc and mnk players dont want to play with console or controller players. The big complaint i always hear is auto aim controller aim assist is too god mode. And to that i say nay it can be a hinderence to controller players dont know how many times ive been playing a game and i swing my reticle over someones head and pull on red. Unfortunately i dont have the sensitivity that a mouse has. Hardcore mouse users also have some hella precision when hitting you with a pistol, br, or sniper. Ive seen high sensitivity mouse players but everyone is more concerned with that aim assist. Mainly coming from gold rank players and below mind you. These are things that keep the two in balance of eachother though not very well. While controller has aim assist you guys have look precision and camera flick so aim assist makes up for your guys 2 to 1 by being slightly closer to aim bot than ever before. They forced crossplay to the point that even if i turn of cross network through system settings it still pushes me into games with pc players regardless of what input method theyre using be it controller or mnk. Theyres tons of pc players but xbox lfg is down to an average of 100 looking for group posts at any given time the games basically dead on console at this point
Every other game has a lower player count but has the option to turn crossplay off so its not a player count issue its the issue that 343 has lost touch with its fans. The ogs, the people that helped make halo such a big gaming name that games were introduced as halo killers when really all it took was a company that bungie originally made fun of themselves. They are the guilty spark that broke the game and community they destroyed it just as guilty spark himself would have done to humanity and organic life.
You shouldn’t, because I’m just trying to get the point across that aiming in general is completely broken and inconsistent on both platforms. At least on console, whatever aim assist that exists is the only thing keeping the game playable.
havn’t ran into many issues on MNK when aiming… might be because i already suck at aiming. but when i’m not panicking to aim… it’s not hard

Well, the game in it’s current state is a sweat fest for everybody who isn’t very skilled. I am (slightly above) averagely skilled and i have played 24 matches today. Not a single one with people my own skill, every single one i had to face way more skilled players (and ofcourse i haven’t gotten the mangler matches i need for the ultimate challenge…).

Considering your highest rank is plat 1 I’d say you aren’t the best sample for how aim-assist is overpowered or not. They could add an extra bit of aim-assist for you and top tier players would still make you look silly with less aim-assist. Plat players, M/K or Controller players, don’t really know how things feel at the higher end of the spectrum. If Halo did away with all ranked playlists and it went straight casual, CoD style, then who cares. But they literally advertised it as a “PC game made by PC gamers”. And there is actual data out there that clearly shows (if you can read) that controller players on average, perform far higher in Halo Infinite than M/K users. I’m an Immortal Valorant player, and used to be 50. 5 start General in the MLG playlist. I’m not just talking about the disadvantages because I’m playing bad, it’s an actual impossible hurdle to climb to even compete with top tier controller players.

And just as thats your decision btw just because im plat 1 doesnt mean im not better that means the game wasnt good enough to stick around as i had max level on halo 3 and reach i stopped caring about halo when 4 had crap multiplayer 5 didnt do any better and here we are with 6 the biggest player decline yet and me giving them yet another chance thinking third times the charm.
As for your hurdle its laughable of course controller player og are going to smack around mnk nubs because they need to now get good at their new input method and while controller has been worked on for ages and is the stadlndard in halo mnk is new terriotory. So of course anyone using mnk as their primary now is going to get their just desserts. To complain about how the two have differences is dumb there are far further problems between console and pc besides the controller input when YOU CAN LITERALLY PLUG A CONTROLLER IN YOURSELF AND GAIN THE ADVANTAGE THEY HAVE. i didn’t call players ‘sweats’, i was calling matches ‘sweat fests’, meaning you have to play against way more skilled players and therefore the match is unfair, unbalanced and therefore you have to break a sweat to even get a kill.
I’ve only played HI with a XSX controller but I have this strong suspicion that the game would be easier using a mouse to aim. Perhaps i should give it a try one day…

Don’t! There is a valid reason as to why there is no MnK population on this game. Controller AA + reticle friction is so much more dominant than mouse and keyboard, hence the reason for this thread.
