Lol right, like the fact that’s it’s a live service with no service except repairs is possibly one of the biggest reasons.
This just seems like another rpost of someone on Mouse and keyboard that just wants to talk about mouse and keyboard.

When combat evolved came out how many MnK players were there? Not a whole lot. Controller players have kept the franchise alive for the past 20 years. The game has far bigger issues than an uneven ratio of MnK players to controller players. This is far from Halo Infinite’s greatest threat. Instead of making a big deal over a relatively small issue, do something useful with your time.
Just use whatever you’re comfortable with. You prefer M+K? Great, I prefer controller. It really doesn’t matter what you use. The aim assist is already weak in this game. We aren’t holding anything back by using controllers.
How well did Halo 4 perform by trying to become a “Modern Shooter” rendition of Halo?
Didn’t it only decline and never had a rise in playerbase at all?

Whenever I see anyone bring up the discussion of cross-platform needing to be able to be turned off, a lot of PC players come out of the woodwork to say that they play with a controller and not an M&K setup.
The biggest threat to the low population is the terrible net-coding, desync, and the poor attempt at anti-cheat. Not to mention the weapons sandbox being weak in this game and the map selection being quite limiting with no map remasters like every other Halo game has featured.
Sure, it’s clearly someone fed up with things, but it’s also a clear troll considering the OP is obviously not engaging in any discussion and only responding to people that “didn’t read” his post, all while continuing to quote himself.
We all cope in our own way I guess.
Sorry, we’re at the point of the games speedy decline where because of the game’s other big issues this massive flaw is safe to ignore.
You haven’t provided a solution yet except complaining that controller players can’t read. What exactly do you want that would give m&kb players a fair chance? Before you say lowering aim assist, controllers need that in Halo because Halo has slow kill times unlike other games. Also, thinking controllers are the biggest threat to Infinite’s decline is laughable.
I swear it’s like everyone forgot that Halo 1 and Halo 2 were on PC already (not counting halo 3 eldewrito. but if i was, then you can also take that into account). In that regard; MnK players have always been around playing Halo before Halo Infinite was even released. So trying to say one is killing the other is entirely laughable. Sure some may have still used a controller (Halo is the only FPS game I have on PC that I use a controller for) but they always had the option of one or the other.
Can’t you also use a keyboard and mouse on console and controller on pc?
Can’t say for Playstation (regarding MnK) but definitely. I see plenty of players in COD who are on Xboxes that have a mouse icon next to the Xbox logo. Just like I see plenty playing via battle.net and have a controller icon next to the battle.net logo.
What Halo Infinite needs is a filter, not to prevent crossplay… but to prevent cross-input play.
The Matchmaking System needs to have a filter added to prevent players from being put into matches with separate inputs. If you want to play with a M&K setup, you should only play with M&K players. And if you are playing with a controller, then you should be paired only with other controller players.
Should we tell him about the numbers mobile gaming is pulling?
halo infinite still needs to prevent crossplay and its not about the M&K reason but on the other big reason there most do it.
but i have no problem at all if there is a filter also comming for the cross input play that you can choose to play only against controler players, only M&K players or both Controlers and M&K players.
then you fix a lot off problems the same time also.
Add 2 options:
Enable crossplay (meaning its turned off by default)
Disable controller based matchmaking in non-ranked playlists (meaning its turned on by default).
Or just add the second, and make crossplay only happen to people who squad up before matchmaking, otherwise its always off.
Controller will always be the best way to play halo, like it or not
It would make more sense for it to be a sort of detect input feature, so that when you are playing with a Controller the game would only pair you with other controller players while if you are playing M&K you will only be paired with other M&K players in matchmaking.
With the setting turned off, you will only be paired with others who have the setting turned of.
This setting would of course only apply to PvP Matchmaking. So Forge, Firefight, Campaign, and Custom Games can be cross-platform all of the time regardless of if the setting is on or off.
And once an input has been detected, to prevent “cheating” mid-match through swapping control setups; the game will not register your inputs if you swapped from Controller to M&K or vice-versa while the match is going, essentially forcing you to be AFC/AFK until you start using the proper control inputs you started the match with.
Halo 2 vista barely has 200,000 on pc… steam is not be all truth… relax millions are playing on Xbox ones, series S/X…
That’s not controller players, this game is nosediving because in reality it’s overall a bad game, from it’s design, to it’s store, to it’s “live service” idea.
In al honesty people like YOU are the reason M&K players get a bad rep in the gaming community.
Thanks to MCC ANYBODY can claim they’ve been playing since CE, but not the CE that came out 21 years ago.
sadly he is telling the truth about it more.
since his service record tells he has play the original halo 2 so there is a big chance he has also play the original halo CE maybe next time look first on there service record before telling things like that.
to make sure there are telling the truth or not
that means the OP is a Vet player that has play the original halo CE on that part he is right.
but on his points he is compleet wrong at all.
