Controller not working

Hi! Hoping I can find someone who can help.

I recently bought the MCC through Windows store due to the current discount. I am trying to figure out how to get my controller recognised by the game. I’ve added my game to steam to get the controller support, but I am finding that the controller is being used as a keyboard/mouse, rather than being picked up as a controller.

I am using a generic controller just as further info. Any help would greatly be appreciated, especially if I can get my controller to work through microsoft, without having to download third party programs.

Same exact issue… I can’t switch from keyboard to controller on settings.

I’m guessing it’s a glitch on the new update. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall?

Just fixed mine by changing the game settings from keyboard to controller in the main menu screen vs trying while games were going on.

Thanks for the reply DoloGENESIS, and I’m glad you were able to get it to work for yourself. Unfortunately this hasn’t done anything with my game and I am still not able to really use my controller.

I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this as much as possible. I’ve noticed that when I go into the big picture mode of steam, it only shows the game only being usable with keyboard and mouse, and I think this is my overwhelming issue. I wish I’d waited a few days and got this on steam, the microsoft store has given me a few issues with trying to download the game and now I can’t use my controller when I need to. Wish I’d refunded it when I was struggling to download it, probably too late now.
