controller layout help

hey guys just after some advice i didn’t start playing multiplayer till halo 4 and had a serious crack at it in terms of hours played and since then with H5 i started with the halo 4 button layout which with the new spartan abilities makes some things a little more difficult ( sprint ,movement ,crouch walking etc ) seeing as I’m at lvl 146 and won’t be playing hard much longer I’m thinking of trying to learn new layout (bumper jumper) that suits the new style of play better before H6, can anyone recommend the best layout and or any tips on playlists etc to adapt faster ?

Probably not really worth your time if you aren’t going to play “hard” much longer. The button layout usually changes from game to game somewhat so who knows what the layouts will be for H6. I took the plunge and bought an elite controller. I use the H4 layout and remapped the crouch, grenade select and jump to the paddles under the controller. It’s a sweet set up.

ok thats not a bad thought my muscle memory is pretty severely engrained after a few years of play and i guess you can always remap buttons when you need especially on the elite !
in your opinion is it worth getting the elite ?
the main reason for not having a serious crack any longer is I’m at about as high a level as i can get playing from australia i just can’t get past mid platinum with my connection and latency at the times i play

To me it’s only worth getting the elite if you play a lot and/or are a serious player who wants to play good. I game quite a bit and I want to be a champion level FFA player, unlikely but want to be, so I wanted every advantage I could have. Elites do give you a slight advantage as it makes getting to buttons you need easier. I also love the customization of it. I prefer the convex thumb sticks over the concave ones as I feel I have better control. I also love how I can turn the vibration down instead of either on or off.
