Controller input on PC doesn't work sometimes

This has started happening since the update and the option to set your preferred input and input based matchmaking.

I will play custom games fine, navigate the menu fine with my controller (a regular Xbox One controller, connected via USB), then when I go into matchmaking and get into a game, I can’t do anything. I can bring the guide on PC using the guide button but that’s it. I can’t play at all, not even with the keyboard because I have my preferred input method set to controller.

Over the last couple days, unplugging the controller and plugging it back in has fixed it a couple times, and once it is works in one game, it seems to work until I have to restart the game. Today however that isn’t working at all and I have had to alt f4 out of about 4 games in a row because I just can’t do anything.

I have tried changing around the usb port the controller is plugged into and that hasn’t helped at all.
I unplugged my Razer Tartarus which I don’t use for Halo, but that hasn’t helped either.

I am just about to try without my USB multi board now to see if that’s it, but whatever it is, surely there has to be a way to fix this. I don’t want to have to get under my desk and rearrange everything just so my controller will work in Matchmaking.

Unplugging the USB multiboard didn’t help at all either. This is definitely something to do with detecting the Xbox One Controller as a Controller.

I tried restarting the PC, booting up the game without razer synapse open incase that was effecting it … still no. Now my bans for alt f4ing when I can’t do anything is 10 minutes. Yea, when you guys fix this, reset my ban history please and thank you since this should never have been a problem in the first place.

So … it seems to be something to do with the game restrictions and the Razer Tartarus.

I uninstalled the controller and connected it via bluetooth instead of usb, and the controller is no longer recognized as an Xbox One Controller, but a:
Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device

and now the controller works in Matchmaking.

Im having this same issue! I just closed out of all razor programs. Once my ban from Alt F4ing is up, Ill let you know if that works.

LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS TO ME I CANT EVEN PLAY WITH MY CONTROLLER. I ACTUALLY GOT BANNED FOR GETING OUT AT THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME BUT I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE.
