I know this is your opinion and I’m not trying to take that away from but, they don’t go hand in hand. I do have top of the line hardware but even if my PC latency is .020ms faster than my Series X. It still doesn’t out weigh the aim assist and stronger bull mag controller gets. Also, A lot of latency depends on the tick rate of the servers. Does anybody know the tick rate?
Dude. I’m just saying that’s my subjective experience with the game. The aim feels awful, and it feels like there is almost zero aim-assist. When I’m sniping (sniper/shock-rifle) or using a commando I need to be dead-on or I’ll miss every single shot.
Halo 1-4 has more fluid aim, it feels better to me than Halo infinite to just look around. When I’m aiming at a pebble, tree or whatever it feels more natural and easy in Halo 1-4 than Halo infinite. In Halo infinite it feels like I’m fighting my controller even when I’m just looking around.
If you’ve gone from mouse to controller, and see an increase of 10% in accuracy (proof btw…??) then you must be either absolutely terrible with a mouse, or actually experienced with a controller. I’ve never seen anyone pick up a controller and act like it’s the most natural thing ever from the get go. How long have you used a controller?
There’s plenty of videos of KBM native users that pick up controller for the first time and are shooting better than they do with KBM. There is also a hand full of people who are doing worse on controller than they do KBM, but it’s more so as a whole users who have switched to controller accuracy improved. here’s one guy for example…

This I do agree with and I’m pinning it to the way they’re doing the aim acceleration and not giving people an option to turn it off.
Yea same. When I turn the aim-acceleration all the way down it feels the most consistent, but you can’t turn it off completely which is actual BS. I’m 100 % certain allot of the aim-issues I had in Halo 5 have and Halo Infinite is because of that setting, and I hate it.
jfc. Why are 343i so insistent of adding pointless mechanics that are clearly made to -BLAM- with people??
You don’t -BLAM- with aim in an FPS. If that feels inconsistent, then the game just looses its charm EVERY -BLAM- TIME something weird happens. I quit Halo 5 because the aim was trash. I can 100% see people quitting Halo Infinite because of mechanics like that.
This is something we pushed for in the very beginning when PUBG was in preview on Xbox. A couple weeks later they gave us the option to totally disable aim acceleration. The actual devs were very active on their boards. I don’t see anything from 343i’s team.
For those who don’t want to watch a 5 min vid it’s about Sniper rifle aim-resist when no-scoping - the crosshair is actively repelled from moving enemy when aiming on m&k - to further punish m&k players playing crossplay with controller players who get their crosshairs glued to the enemy head.
Which is one of most horrible “features” 343 put into the game.
They’re actually referring to using your movement to drag the cursor where you want it BECAUSE the aim stick will throw you way off for subtle adjustments. We do this in every FPS
I also find it really stupid that this is PCs first Halo and they’re already hacking and crying about aim assist on console, seriously can’t stand PC gamers.
I seriously can’t stand so called “gamers” that favoritism over a plastic box.
Here’s the biggest difference between people like you and I. IF this was the other way around, and they gave controller hardly any aim assist and/or hardly any bullet mag and KBM was dominating, I would be complaining that they need to buff controller to make it more balanced.
Tomorrow I might be able to make a shorter version of this video along with trying something else out. Someone in the YouTube comments asked about active camo. If I remember right, in pervious Halo’s aim assist still worked against an active camo opponent, only difference is your crosshair didn’t turn read unless they started shooting.
