I’ve said it before. They ain’t going to “fix” it. They had over 2 years to sort basically the same problem in the MCC. So why haven’t they spoken about the issue?
I mean they can’t do anything because the majority of console players won’t like their only means of playing being twerked and kbm won’t like the status quo. So they’re not addressing the problem because it’ll incite outrage on either side.
On the other hand I think they should be fixing 1 or 2 larger issues before tossing out a “balance” fix
You can use mnk on console. Didn’t you know that?
That’s why I said “Majority”
You can, but it sucks man… there’s a lot of input lag on Xbox, no way to play competitively as KBM not on pc or on console.
This game was marketed as crossplay for ‘everyone’ when in fact the only way to compete in Halo esports is to buy a controller and ‘git good’.
No wonder this game is dying, alienating half of your playerbase it’s not the way at all.
Game did so good in november/december… lots of KBM streamers (summ1t, myth, xqc, shourd) were also streaming it, it was top of the charts. Such a shame I acutally love the game and KBM, played on that all my life.
343 is losing a ton of money by neglecting their mnk community
Input lag is bare minimum, it feels just as responsive on my Series X as my PC.
Didn’t get the chance to try it myself, maybe I’m wrong, but I saw people complaining about this topic online.
I think I was one of the very few who did this. PC gamepass version is unplayable for me so until I downloaded and tried out Steam, I was using KBM on my Series X.
lol you also have people saying aim assist doesn’t work, it’s stronger on PC blah blah blah.
Are you still on this. Just do what the rest of us do ask for it to be an option. It doesn’t harm anyone and it then means the game is balanced for those who choose
I’m not one of those sir! I’m one of the last competitive KBM players still hoping KBM will have a future in competitive Halo.
Shouldn’t speak for Xbox KBM tho you’re totally right since I’m on PC, but I would be surprised for it to be better.
All we want man is some feedback… if this post remains at the top 343 will have to address it.
Doesn’t matter if the future of Halo is ‘controller exclusive for esports’ or ‘ballanced crossplay’ or ‘separate HCS tournaments based on input’ we’re fine with any of it, but we deserve to know! so that each of us can decide if we should continue investing our time playing this game on KBM.
This game was marketed as a ‘crossplay game for everyone’ which is misleading cause Halo crossplay isn’t ballanced and the esports scene is controller oriented.
The thing is the average player doesn’t care about competitive esports. So what the esport decides to do with inputs should not effect the average player.
What harm is there to giving people the option to turn it off. Not make it defualt off but just an option to turn it off.
Regarding feedback that is something we will only get with time. But all these threads boil down to is people complaining about the other side instead of coming to the most logical option make it optional
Oh, I wasn’t accusing you at all. I was just saying a lot of people will say this and that. I mean hell, look at all the things I debunked in my videos from what people say, heard and read.
i will make a video about mnk vs controller on youtube. That ll take some time but ill make sure its a good one.
I think m&k should get more bullet magnetism to equalize the playing field a bit without removing controller aim assist which probably would be met with opposition from controller players.
Also, I think all those settings should be optional, ideally with a slider that would allow you to adjust your own settings between preset max down to 0 so that you can adjust it on your own to your liking.
If anybody is interested, I’m going to try out this Nvidia stream to YouTube since they support 32:9. I’ll be doing SWAT to show how much of a struggle it can be. Hoping to get Behemoth since that map is the hardest to hit at range without bullet mag.
Strange. I can’t do borderless fullscreen, just closed out Nvidia. I have to do windowed.
Well, this game is completely unplayable in windowed. So much stuttering.
Exactly this. These guys on here whining like they’re the top 1%.
I do believe there are multiple aspects to this issue. The obvious are PC vs Xbox consoles and then Controller vs KBM.
The responsiveness of play can be affected by not just your input preference but the Xbox gen console you use and conversely the PC you’re playing on.
For example, an Alienware M17 r4 with a GTX 3080 that has been tweaked in the Nvidia Control panel to maximize latency between input and reaction makes a huge difference in all aspects of game play. If you don’t have those options on a standard PC o (and we know you don’t on even the top line Xbox Series X) you’re not going to get the same speed, accuracy and performance. It’s just not happening.
KBM latency, unless maximized by top of the line software and equipment will always be a thing when playing on line. Same with controller on PC as most PC’s calibrate controller reactivity based on standard KBM coding. (with that said, it’s assumed some controller input timings may be slightly quicker to compensate for the changes needed to ensure compatible game play).
With all that said, in my humble opinion, this isn’t a “Halo” issue. It’s not even an unfair advantage issue, it’s a technology issue. If you want to ensure you have the best kill shots, the fastest reaction times and the best performance, you’ll need to invest in top of the line hardware and graphics to ensure any input latency is kept at an absolute minimum.
