No, it’s to make KBM more relevant.
Yeah, just ignored the parts of my post that remind you PC players don’t need an aim assist because the Mouse is already more accurate than the Analog Stick. Typical.
In general, I agree with you but that is not the case with Halo.
Not when said analog aim has AA + bullet magnetism that the mouse doesn’t have. The long TTK plus no bullet magnetism negates any quick flick you can do with a mouse. This isn’t CS:GO, Halo’s fights are more about consistency than about speed clicking. As bloom kicks in on automatic weapons, the lack of bullet magnetism on mouse negates being first to spin and engage many times, as 3rd, 4th rounds are now off target because magnetism is not applied. Couple that with the really strong AA, and the controller user is able to stay more consistently on target than a mouse user during a strafe battle, and hit more reliably due to the strong bullet magnetism. The speed and accuracy of the mouse are not enough to overcome the current strengths of these assistances to controller aim and accuracy for a lot of people.
Edit: the things this forum censors really makes no sense. Why?
Pretty soon, the word -Yoink!- will be censored, too.
The balancing issue stems from MKB versus Controller. Blame Microsoft and 343 for forcing you guys to have to play against a tilt in a game that is dominated by people on controllers lol
The saddest part of this entire topic, is all PC players have to do is use a controller like everyone else if Halo Infinite is soooo unbelievably unfair and difficult, and then the argument would be over but that would just make way too much sense.
Why should I have to abandon my preferred input when it’s both supported and intended to be used and 343 wants them to be able to play together? Like, “Just switch to controller” is silly - 343 intended for it to be balanced, it isn’t balanced well enough, this is just feedback that “Hey, it’s not as balanced as you think, look how strong it really is”.
Strange. I did my testing in the weapon drills, but I found higher BM on both inputs than you did. When aiming just below the head with MnK I was able to consistently get perfect kills.
I’ll see if I can replicate and record it.
I’m staring to wonder if FOV affects bullet magnetism, as it affects the reticle size.
Hold up, I thought HI didn’t have bullet magnetism….right?
I understand what you’re saying above about the corrections being faster and more accurate than a human would reliably do, in part this might be true…but let’s not get to extreme with our examples here, not all controller players are great or even aim efficiently anyway…
Not downplaying what you’re saying, I’m just sayin…
Some say it does, some say it doesn’t. I tested off camera with both set to 100 FOV and it made no difference.
It does - just either none or way less if you’re using mouse input.
Edit: @ItzTheDay 's video on magnetism: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ-RwtL2xm8
Who said that? Not me, I’ve never said that. I always said controller has stronger bullet mag than KBM, since I’ve done the testing one for one, side by side.
Right here, this comment…
Did you watch the clip I was talking about? The one with the Skewer?
Also, that is not saying I said there’s no bullet mag. I said it has a noticeable amount of bullet mag, refereeing to the Skewer with controller as Doc got the kill and was way off target.

Here it is, go to 3:55 and playback speed at .25
My mistake I thought he hip fired, he did zoom in but he was knocked out of zoom and go the kill out of zoom, but was off target.
What do you want me to say? He didn’t deserve the kill because his crosshair wasn’t perfectly on his body?
Geez. You’re always so quick to judge.
And here we go again. It’s always the assumption of illegitimate assistance.
Maybe the player is just good. That’s a possibility, too.
There’s good mouse players and good controller players. Neither one detracts from the other.
That’s how it’s suppose to be. You miss, you miss.
It’s not that it wasn’t “perfectly” on the body. Just like in Lucids video, wasn’t even close.
That wasn’t a miss, though. You clearly see the -Yoink!- connect.
Trust me, I know what missing with a skewer feels like. It sucks and I’m sure many players can vouch for that.
bro why are they censoring s h o t?
No, it didn’t. The game gave him the kill since he’s on controller. It’s clear as day the hit marker lit up off of target, the same exact way it did in Lucids video. The hit marker wasn’t even on target, not even a little bit.
