Controller eSports are the Special Olympics of Gaming. When I watch sports I want to watch human beings reach natural heights never achieved by previous human beings. I would never watch basketball if Michael Jordan had aim assist and every shot he made was guaranteed because he played with a handicap. I don’t want to watch handicapped people. I want to watch the natural abilities of human beings excel to their highest potential. That means either mouse and keyboard players or controller players without aim assist.
The reason aim assist was invented is because back in the day when you could only play on 15-20 fps, it was hard to shoot people with a controller. Nowadays people play on 200, even 300 + fps in every game. Games are smooth now, there’s no reason for aim assist. Controller games need to stop implementing aim bot/aim assist to their games. You guys aren’t handicapped. Unless you are officially handicapped, you can play games without one.
I won’t be interested in watching Halo Infinite tournaments if there’s aim assist/aim bot to be quite frank and neither will the majority of the world.
