This is only happening in Infinite but during multilayer games my controller constantly disconnects, I’m on the series X. It only started after the winter update, im not blaming the update yet, but its not happening in other games.
Sounds crazy, but this has actually happened to me too. Only once though, so far, so I thought nothing of it. Like you though, my controller just turned off mid-match, despite its charge being fine.
I’ve had similar issues/challenges with plugged in controllers. I’m not really sure how to guide you to help assist aside from disconnecting your controller and repairing it with the Xbox. Good luck fellow Spartan.
I am on PC. Controler stops working all the sudden. Forced to go KBM and still vibrate when I shoot on KBM. Un plugging and replugging does not fix. Only thing that does is quitting the game and relaunching.
I had this happen to me yesterday. I had to remove the controller batteries to get it to reconnect without having to restart the game. Never had that happen before, but it occurred three times within a short time frame during my matches last night. The same controller played other games fine before and after.
It happened to me momentarily this morning but it corrected itself as quickly as it happened.
My controller was plugged in to charge.
I’ve had to go through multiple cords with my pc for whatever reason. I’m not sure why because I never had this issue with MCC or any other game.
dude 10 minutes ago my mouse -Yoink!- stopped moving too had to die to reset it. just like how equipment switching constantly breaks.
Started happening to me too. 2 times so far. Only infinite has had the issue that I’ve seen. I’d say infinite is about half my game time since the update.
I’ve been having the exact same issue but on PC.
Are you on windows 11 or 10?
Same thing is happening to me. Controller works on MCC, but not Infinite.
I have gotten this issue ~10 times in the past few sessions. One game it happened 3 times in one game.
I have an elite series 2 controller that I use for my series X and it disconnects on me all the time, even when it’s wired and I cannot get it to turn back on for a good 3-4 minutes, so frustrating when I’m in the middle of a match or fighting a boss!! My AA battery standard controller works just fine, it only seems to have disconnecting issues on halo infinite, all other games it works with no problems!
Same here, a message pops up saying the controller has disconnected, even though the controller is still on … and I die, only happens with this game. It’s not the end of the world, but it does add to the pile of … " things wrong with Infinite.
This happens to me a LOT. Sometimes I can go to the BT menu (Windows 10) and delete the paired controller, initiate pairing on the controller, add it back and it works again. Sometimes thats unsuccessful. The best is when the controller disconnects while moving and your character just keeps moving/looking that direction until you’re able to resolve the controller issue.
This ONLY happens in Halo Infinite. Why!? I use this controller tons of other games and literally the only one this happens in in Halo infinite, and mainly just in Multiplayer (can’t recall if it happens in the campaign).
I tried updating the firmware of the controller (wasn’t aware you could do this, download the Xbox Accessories App to do it on PC) and turning off “Allow windows to turn off this device” under the device power savings menu. We’ll see if that helps…
I’ve had two disconnects in the last week but neither was while playing Infinite. One with my Elite 2 while playing Alan Wake and once with my normal Series X controller playing Warhammer Chaosbane.
Can’t recall the last time I had a disconnect before these so maybe Xbox has rolled out some dodgy firmware recently.
I had my controller randomly turn off vibrate and a few drops the other night on Overwatch. I haven’t had this particular issue happen on Halo yet, but it’s more than likely a controller issue.
Edit: The vibrate dropped on Halo. I may be correct that it’s a controller issue as my controller for my Xbox has done it now, as well as my PC controller prior.
It does sound like a hardware issue more than a Halo Infinite issue.
Phew…
Has there been any fix for this at all? I have an Elite controller that only disconnects when I play halo infinite, regardless if it’s multiplayer or campaign but it doesn’t disconnect with any other games. I have checked firmware and all and I can’t find any issue with my controller. Sucks I can’t use this controller since it was the halo edition elite
