Controller aim fix?

Is there ever going to be a fix on the insane look acceleration? Or is Microsoft just going to take my money and force me to endlessly micro adjust in my duels?

Also, this game plays way too much like warzone. Ttk is nonexistent, sprint should not be a thing but crank up movement speed instead, etc.

If I wanted to play a twitch shooter, I’d just play Apex or Titanfall.

The issue isn’t with the ain acceleration, it’s with the radius of the aim assist zone.

In Infinite you only get aim assist when your reticle is already on the target. In past games aim assist is more of a zone surrounding the target where you can focus your aim and bring it in.

That’s why it feels so messed up. As soon as you adjust your reticle off of the target, your look speed goes back up to regular and your reticle shoots away like a rocket.

The look acceleration on 1 is very, very slow. Controller aim is fine.

The TTK is pretty high, even if you are hitting perfects.

Halo isn’t a twitch shooter.

There will be a fix eventually. Sounds like the system needs a rebuild.

I watched an very good in depth analysis about the aiming issues and the entire system is jank. No amount of fiddling with deadzones and accel will fix it.

I swear aim assist turns off and on because of lag related issues.

Some matches the aim assist is there, and other times my reticle feels like there is none at all, sometimes within the same match.

Also sometimes my rifle and pistol kill instantly when peoples shield drops and other matches it takes an extra 6 shots to kill someone even mixed with headshots (bloom? Annnd lag??). The lag even creates a small delay between shot and kill which makes it seem even longer. I’m left staring at the screen after it looks like I shot the target 4 more times after popping their shield and somehow they’re able to absorb all of it and run away into safety. This is all connection related I’m sure. When my rifle is killing appropriately after I pop shield the match feels so much better and less frustrating. This HARDLY happened in season 1. My rifle never felt as if it was shooting blanks like that.

My conclusion is that this game has hit registration and lag issues that exacerbate the aim problem.

The TTK would be high but you add their netcode and it’s a mess. For example, what looks like a 3 burst of BR on shooter side lands like a single headshot instakill. Or you could be shooting at a target repeatedly and it just not registering, even with low ping.

If you mean that the aim acceleration messes you up because it feels inconsistent when turning I agree. Most shooters up to the last couple of years had a linear aim curve which still feels better to me. For some reason infinite doesnt give you the ability to choose that.

I would suggest you max out aim acceleration as that is the closest to a linear aim curve in Infinite. Then if you are turning too fast now lower your sensitivity.

The higher the aim acceleration the faster you achieve your max sensitivity when turning so for me the lower the aim acceleration the more it messes with my accuracy.

I wish they would add it. I suspect one of the reasons they didn’t add curve options is because Xbox Elite 2 have this option in the accessory software. Why replicate it when you can sell more overpriced controllers?

That description of Infinite’s aim is entirely wrong. Infinite’s turn rate versus stick angle is roughly linear when moving the stick from the middle to the edge. The slope of that line is set by your sensitivity setting. When moving the stick left or right, once the stick reaches your Max Input Threshold the output turn rate spikes. The magnitude of the spike is set by your Acceleration setting. The higher the acceleration setting the higher the max turn rate. This turn rate spike, or acceleration, on applies to horizontal turn rate. There is no spike in vertical turn rate so the Max Input Threshold has no effect on vertical turn rate.

I believe the main reason Infinite’s aim feels so bad was already mentioned; aim assist used to engage within a cone around a target. Now it engages only on the target. So as soon as your reticle leaves the target your sensitivities go back to your settings and your reticle can easily fly away. That change between reduced sensitivities when aim assist is engaged back to non-AA sensitivities is jarring and difficult to control. I wish the AA zones where a bigger cone around targets and that the effect on your sensitivities was more gradual, less binary.

Yesterday, I played only two games of bot boot camp, the first game was fine, but the second game was so bad with lag that it was night and day. It took everything and then some to kill a bot, and from what I could see I wasn’t the only one to have troubles, and this is on dedicated servers. I closed the game because with that kind of inconsistent network, there is no way I will play regular slayer, and it is a problem with this game. I so dread multiplayer co-op even though I look forward to playing hopefully the Destiny style matchmaking co-op missions, but with these network problems, it will be a crap show.

Bad netcode never reduced ttk, idk what you’re on about with this

Fos pretty much said anything I would’ve so all I have to say is…

Infinite isn’t a twitch shooter. If you want a twitch shooter try Halo 5.

I found the link I was talking about earlier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UoOQ7o5Yiw

thats not even a twitch shooter lol. Clearly u dunno what u r saying.
