Has anyone else begun experiencing periodic issues with slow/no control responsiveness for certain actions like sprinting, boosting, melee-ing, switching guns, etc in multiplayer?
Using sprinting as an example, since it is the issue I’ve been encountering most often, I’ll go through periodic bouts in some games where I need to repeatedly repeat the action on the control pad to eventually get sprint to engage. I should probably also mention these issues seem to be most pronounced on games that are particularly choppy from a lag perspective.
I am unsure whether it is a hardware or software issue. At first, I thought it was my controller - I mainly use an Elite controller - but I still experience the same issues using a standard controller. Also, I don’t recall having these issues prior to the most recent update.
I haven’t experienced this issue, but from your explanation it appears to be mostly an issue with lag. If you aren’t using a wired connection, I would suggest trying that as it should make your connection more stable. You can also search under “Focused” for matches with better connectivity, although they might take longer to find.
Yeah, I have typically use Focused for matchmaking, but encounter the same type of lag others have complained of. That could be a factor I guess - if it is possible for actions to get “lost” similar to firing “blanks” at times in laggy games - but I don’t think that’s the root cause.
Short of buying a new wired controller, I don’t have a means to test that out to see if it makes a difference. I have an issue with my Elite controller right thumbstick drifting, and it should still be covered under warranty, so maybe I will get MS to replace it and see if that makes any difference.
It’s most likely because of low population. Your getting teamed with other countries which can cause really bad lag. If your experiencing delay when you hit a button on your controller it could be input lag on your tv. My tv has really bad input lag, I hit any button on my controller and there’s a delay before it happens on the screen. You can google the make and model and see what the specs are.
I also have an Elite controller. If your drifting go to controller settings in the H5 and play with the dead zone settings.
My right thumb stick tends to stick a little when pushing to the right. If I let it snap back in place and it doesn’t stick, not really noticeable when I’m playing because I’m constantly moving the stick. My controller is 2 yrs old, the only thing that failed was the left bumper broke ( I use bumper jumper and wore it out…lol). Bought a replacement on Amazon for 5 bucks. Watched a U-Tube vid on repairing it. Really easy to repair, good as new.
Wired is definitely the best, but if it’s not an option for you there’s only 6ms difference between the two, not even noticeable. Unless you live in an apartment complex and have a lot of wireless interference from neighbors.
