Control Layouts

Hey Spartans,

I was wondering about this when my friends and I were discussing it the other night.

Do you use the same button layout in campaign and in multiplayer? Do you use different ones?

Lemme know which layouts and why! Also if you want to include the layouts in the order of the campaigns that would be cool as well.

I play Green Thumb across the board. I’ve used it since CE for Xbox. It’s just comfortable for me.

For all of the games other than H5 and MCC, I just use default. MCC I use the Universal Reclaimer layout. H5 I use the Halo 4 layout.

As for using different layouts in campaign and multiplayer… I have no idea how anyone would be able to tolerate that. I’m sure there’s probably someone out there who does that, I just wouldn’t understand why.

Not sure why you would use two different layouts for the campaign and multiplayer. I know someone might do it when using vehicles in multiplayer like the Banshee for example, but don’t really know any other reason. I use Recon for everything that I can because it feels the most natural for me.

I’ve always been a fan of Bumper Jumper. Being able to aim and jump at the same time is really essential for any type of competitive play.

Recon never fails to let me down.

Thanks for the feedback! I understand why a lot of people enjoy Recon because I know it was default for Halo 3.

Yeah, Recon was my first control scheme (as OP said just then, it was default in Halo 3) and it has stuck since. I like Bumper-Jumper and Halo 4’s scheme for a while but it always turns a full loop back to Recon.
