So I moved add to control group to the shift key so that the layout is more reminiscent of Starcraft, but currently neither add to control group nor Create control group (My ctrl key) let me have more than one unit on any more than a single control group.
As soon as I try adding a group of units to more than one control group it’ll take them out of the group that I had first placed them in. (That’s while utilizing both add to control group and create control group keys)
This is still a major problem with my game, would like to know if it was intentional or if it’s going to be fixed at all.
This is the way it works regardless of rebinding.

You’re only supposed to have one unit tied to one control group at a time? I remember that you used to be able to have one unit on multiple.
I believe it got changed because it was causing bugs, I don’t recall at what point it was changed it may have even been pre-release.

I actually believe it was changed around the release of ATN. There was another change to it where add control group would remove units from the control group if they were inside. (Which could have made it difficult if you tried to box select an entire army to add one unit inside. Although you got around this by using create control group instead.)
Currently I can’t have one unit inside more than one control group regardless of what button I use and I also assumed it was a glitch because I never saw the change officially in any of the patch notes, and now that I’m playing more often it makes it difficult control and select units you need during bigger army engagements.
Edit: It was from the patch from two months ago which made mikebeaston come out with this https://www.reddit.com/r/HaloWars/comments/72lu7y/new_patch_destroyed_pc_functionality/ I figured it would be fixed the same time that the other pc changes would take affect.
Edit: looked through the changes once again (August-November within the time frame of the change) and still haven’t seen why this change was made or whether or not it was intentional or otherwise.
