I posted a couple of days ago regarding issues with downloading and not being able to play the new Spartan Ops that were released on Monday. After posting that post, talking to Xbox Live Support, I am no where close to being able to play the new episode. Don’t know what can be done but I need help rather its from my fellow Halo gamers or 343 techs who can provide any help with this issue.
Well as far as I can tell you need to install disc 1 and disc 2 and the download for the new episodes.
99% of the time with a large file download its data corruption during downloading at fault for this kind of problem. It only takes a single bit of data thats busted and it ruins the rest of it.
My advice?
Make sure no-one else is using the connection
Download the SpOps update from the dashboard as ingame downloads are know to be problematic in xbox live as a whole.
If you are still having problems, it might be worth checking if your ISP has problems atm or try downloading outside of peak times where its less likely to be throttled or get interference from other users.
For reference, mines downloaded in a few minutes and worked first time. So the data on the servers is “good”, its just not getting to you properly.
I had some problems with this as well, people gave me a good amount of suggestions to try and fix this problem.
- Download might have been corrupted, download from dashboard.
- Some said the Crimson map pack from when it was free for everyone caused them problems so they deleted it and Spartan Ops worked.
- Clear the cache. If you don’t know how it’s pretty simple. Press center button, go into system settings, go into storage, scroll over one of the devices you use to save game, hit Y, then finally hit clear system cache.
- My problem was my Profile got corrupted so you’ll need to delete the profile and re-download it. Turn off/Reboot Xbox, go into storage and clear cache, then delete the profile. If it continues to get corrupted, move it to a new device, (I had to use a spare 16 GB flash-drive).
Those are all the suggestions I can remember at this moment, hope this helps.
i’m actually getting a very bad lag on the first chapter in episode 6. Ever since i downloaded it, i would be jump from one spot to another. For that matter, when ever i fire the carbine, it takes 3 seconds to fire.
however, in your case, im guessing the downloaded was corrupt or something.

Those steps I did when I called XBL support and it still does not work. I want to say that I may end up delete all related Halo 4 Files from my hard drive and make it easier when I have some to to replay Halo 4 from start to finish again. All this in an attempt to finally be able to play Episode 6 prior to 7 coming next week.
