Postums was so inappropriate, I needed to take a shower and attend communion afterwards. They need to bring the hammer down on exploiting peoples suffering to whitewash and deny the utterly lacking content and optimization in your game which we waited half a decade for!
Im %95 sure we will see road maps once they confirm a position for a narrative designer. They lost this individual first thing this year and i believe this is the reality or elephant in the room as far as road map content. Waiting on a response here in waypoint on my post about this topic.
Everything about Infinite’s development and launch is a mess, I can’t believe they flipped this hard yet again. It’s basically a consistent thing at 343 to release unfinished, half baked Halo games at this point with the mentality of “fixing it later”
I seriously can’t understand anyone’s defense of a studio that does this on a routine basis. Especially considering on how they’re backed by a multi billion dollar corp.
Sounds like your not understanding. ill share a link to help elaborate a narrative designers role.

They really needed to have just worked on all aspects of multiplayer before they did campaign. Having forge at launch is critical for keeping players interested. Campaign honestly could have waited, and fans wouldn’t have minded because it would have been something to look forward to.
But you needed to satisfy your core audience and newcomers. Those people want to play multiplayer. Forge should have been a priority. Campaign could have released a year or so down the line.
It also baffles me when you think about the other Microsoft owned companies that launch and/or service their games way better than what’s supposed to be Microsoft’s flagship studio. Granted they all maybe didn’t have perfect launches either, but I look at how Forza Horizon, Gears 5 (after all the updates), and Sea of Thieves are managed and how much different they are from Halo’s launches and servicing, it’s honestly mind boggling.
Like the only example I can think of 343 doing the live service “right” is with the Halo 5 updates, but even then that was essentially just adding the rest of the game in that should have been there at launch so I honestly don’t think that really counts.
At this rate, the yearly roadmap for 2022 will cover S3-S4
Thats how i feel too
Yeah I agree, start off strong with the fanbase by creating a fun and engaging multiplayer for every community to enjoy. Forge should have been a high priority
I know that, but they also went through a couple of creative directors within a span of a year before Infinite’s launch. Everything happening at 343i screams mismanagement.
Exactly, I heard it’s because MS keeps hiring contract workers that usually stick around for 18 months before they leave, it also takes 3 months for them to get fully use to the engine. The issue with this is not only do they have to get use to how the engine works, but it also creates an unsteady work flow of people needing to pick up the pieces of where the previous one left off. They should seriously hire loyal fans with knowledgeable use in game development, if my HS offered game design before they finally introduced it in my senior year in high school, I could’ve gotten 3-4 years worth of it and definitely would’ve helped out.
Never too late to learn. You can easily find resources to learn C# with google and youtube in your free time.
That being said, game dev is toxic. There are far better places to work if you can code.
Definitely, I did look into C+ but honestly it takes up a lot of time, I actually find blueprinting to be a lot easier imo.
Yeah we need content, but the fact is that should come second to the networking issues this game needs fixed. All the content in the world won’t reel in and keep players with the desync and other issues that turn a game like this from feeling SUPER good to play to unbearably frustrating
Idk I get stability is important but if there isn’t content then nobody will play anyways even if the game fixes their net code or slight issues. The games playable and I’d rather play new content with some issues than fixed with nothing new added.
Content is more important imo than just fixes to small issues. Idk I’m on the fence about it
I think they could do both at the same time. Season 2!
We need content bad, I hope season 2 launches with forge we can’t go another 6 months without it
