There are already 3 recent threads about no roadmap, why create another one just to whine?
I wouldn’t say that I’m getting frustrated by the game so much as I’m getting very confused about why Halo Infinite is a “live service game.”
Right now, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer doesn’t feel anything like a live service game, which is one of the prime reasons I was excited for it. I was tired of multiplayer shooters coming out, being really fun for a while, then falling off as everyone waited for the next game. So when I heard that Halo’s multiplayer was going to take the live service approach, I was expected frequent updates, frequent events, something new to do or some progression systems to endlessly chase between updates.
I unlocked everything weeks ago. Now I just… log into the game each day to see if there’s something amazing in the store that I just can’t live without, and today I jumped in and saw “Chibi Battle Bros.”
Where’s the “service” in this live service game?
They’re live servicing the bugs currently. Do you want buggy new content rushed because community expects it?
You’re asking the wrong guy about this. I’m not the person that’s going to complain about the forge or co-op being delayed. I’m not asking them to pump out map packs super fast. Here’s my problem:
That’s not what a live service game is. Bug fixing and resolving issues is not a live service game. There’s one critical thing missing from Halo Infinite that all live service games have in common: “the game has something to do.”
There’s always a carrot to chase in live service games. There is always an incentive to keep playing. To load into “one more match.” Halo Infinite doesn’t have that.
I got an idea, maybe Microsoft should replace 343 with the other studios that seem to have done most of the work for the previous titles.
Then maybe we might actually get a game that isn’t broken in just about every aspect of it. Tbh, the game play is the only thing Infinite has going for it. That doesn’t work for me knowing how empty this game actually is.
343 is Microsoft. The studio was created by Microsoft. It is made up of people that Microsoft picked.
And what does this second half mean regarding “other studios that seem to have done most of the work for the previous titles”? Are you talking about 3rd party outsourcing? How would that even work? Nothing about this makes any sense.
I have to agree with the lack of content and a roadmap. Infinite still feels very vanilla. Hopefully with season 2 we see some changes. Adding forge, ranked slayer, and at least a few more of the missing playlists, more maps (because the few we have are old and tired already) and what most would consider standard halo features would be nice.
Of course it doesn’t make sense to you, but this might help, maybe.
When Activision provided the other studios to create some of the content for Destiny 2, a lot of that content was better work than what Bungie has shown they can do.
343 has shown their work with infinite, and it’s very low quality work. It shows me that what quality has been added to the previous titles wasn’t from 343.
500 million is said to be put into this game, yet it’s not anywhere near to being a complete game, and won’t be for a long time from now. Yet, Halo 4 was a complete game when it released with less.
Yeah, something doesn’t add up here.
Completely agree that the game is light on content. Compared to all other halo titles, the level of launch content is very poor. The battle pass for season 1 was also very underwhelming. I mean genuinely there are about 4 different shades of grey armour in the battle pass
. No creativity at all in the challenge rewards or the store items so far.
If season 2s battle pass doesn’t have more interesting content I’ll be very reluctant to drop more money on it. Do not save all of the cool armour for one off store purchases. People who pay for a battle pass are customers, treat them as such, not as fools who you can then trick in to paying more money for store items.
They can’t release ROADMAPS because then they’ll be COMMITTED to deadlines.
My thread isn’t specifically just about a roadmap lol. Why waste your time with the comment if your tired of seeing them?
I’m agreeing with you, I’m just stating why there’s really no content, I was agreeing to your post, not making a snark remark or counter argument. Sorry about that.
Oh no no you’re fine man, I was responding to another person who was just saying my post is pointless. If you look at the top right of my reply it has an arrow and a different profile picture. That’s the other guy I was responding to.
I appreciate your concern and being apologetic even though it wasn’t needed ![]()

Here’s the problem: 343 is still in charge of what gets delivered from outsourcers. This isn’t like a group project where someone just goes off and works alone for their own contribution. When you have someone else doing outsourced work, they’re literally making what you tell them to make. You outline what they have to accomplish and then they do it.
What is low quality work? Tell me the exact features/content that is low quality.
Oh, so it is about the roadmap and other issues that there are at least 10 other threads about already? It gets tiring to see the same threads made again all the time. You can just add in the other threads instead of making a new one.
If it’s an issue then a moderator would have deleted or locked my post so it’s obviously not the same as the others.
You didn’t have to make a pointless comment. Do you do that to every thread you get annoyed of?
I’m guessing the HCS roadmap was already in place and they had to release something. Problem was HCS was the only thing they had.
New content comes with season 2. That seemed like the direction they hinted at before Xmas… every thing else before would be network fixes and minor alterations.
I also see the same threads, but it’s not that big of a deal as I can just scroll right past them. Or pick up on the fact that perhaps it’s a major issue that so many threads get made for it.
Either way it’s not enough to compel me to go and write how I don’t like seeing so many threads on something
Seems like one of those moments where you responding to a thread about how it’s a waste of time because there is other threads about similar stuff is more of a waste of time.
But eh who knows maybe your just upset that there is no roadmap and now it’s being blasted all over this page that there is no roadmap, and your just tired of being constantly reminded that 343 is kinda dropping the ball.
Kinda like how we were told we are essentially giving up all the cosmetic unlockable methods of before and color options of before in favor of their new system and in return we are going to get a live service constant content type of game…
Only to get the first half but not receive this constant content.
Meanwhile other live service games are dropping content like crazy… And 343 is still struggling with Desync and Their own UI…
But it’s the reality we are in.
low quality example.
Instead of creatig all new coatings and designs
343 took 50 of the basic generic Default colors and put those behind the premium content paywall.
And to take it a step further they made each coating locked to each core so players will need to buy the same generic color multiple times just to wear it on each core instead of making them universal.
Scarlet wake is not a cool red, it’s not even a nice red, it’s just the red that one would expect to be free when turning on any other Halo game.
Now had they been about quality 343 would have taken those 50 default colors and made them a small grind to unlock for each weapon, armor core, and Vehicle.
Providing some form of content be is small for players to go for while we wait for the next major content drop…that of which is non existent. Tactical ops event is not a major content drop as that is simply a timegated reward system with an already existing play mode.
In fact 343 has indeed taken existing content from previous hale games, and timegated them along with cosmetics to simply pad out there live service content.
They went ahead and made the most Re-/arted version of BTB. And broke it when the simply expanded the plastic because they chose to use a UI that suffers an anurism everytime you try to update it.
They can’t even make the items in the bundle, purchasable individually because their UI won’t support that.
How is it 343 cannot accomplish something that even Fortnite was easily able to implement with ease… Because their UI is basically being a Karen to them.
I’m sure there was a moment where somewhere in 343 an executive is telling his design team to build a live service game and the Team is saying the UI can’t handle a live service game… And the executive goes all Ironman 1 yelling Epic games built this in a cave, with a box of scraps lol.
Live service without service.
The worst is that i feel they are retaining content that is already in a playable state because they have nothing left to give us in the future months.
Holding content back is not the way to go and people are already getting bored.
