Alright before I say anything I love this game. But anyways these 18 maps coming out should’ve been in the game at release not marked as FREE DLC like Forge for example, it should’ve been in the game at launch but it was “DLC”. This is -Yoink- 343 Pick it up
Microsoft rushed the release date. 343 wanted all content at launch but Microsoft pushed them to release by October

343 had 3 years to make the game, same as Bungie for their Halos. They weren’t rushed.

Yeah but they had 3 years to make it from the ground up. That means new engine and whatnot. You gotta compare halo 5 to Halo CE in terms of development

And Halo CE Went through multiple huge game design changes (RTS to Thrid Person shooter to FPS) and still had a large amount of content at launch.

This, there is NO DEFENDING 343.

- This was the first Halo game 343i had developed on the Xbox One from the ground up
- This is the second game 343i has made that wasn’t a remake or mobile game
- If they released Forge earlier than needed it wouldn’t been a buggy mess. Tom French and the rest of the forge team are the last people that anyone should be yelling at when it comes to how 343i handles Halo 5. They love forge and want to make it the best possible version of it.
- You’re right, free DLC and content updates are not the same. Free DLC is optional stuff that can be downloaded for free while a content update is forced upon the player because it changes the game for the better with bug fixes and other changes while also giving us new content such as maps, gamemodes, weapons and more.
- You’re argument about the 18 maps being at launch can be said for CoD, Battlefield, Battlefront, and every other shooter that isn’t Garden Warfare, Evolve, Titanfall, or Rainbow Six Siege. They intentionally cut content such as maps, gamemodes, weapons, and more to make a quick buck by charging it for $15. 343i is giving them to us for free. Meaning no additional cost. You pay the full $60 and you get everything. Yet here you are complaining about it to 343i instead of the entire gaming industry when 343i hasn’t done anything wrong.
DLC = Downloadable Content
343 monthly Updates contain content used within the game and are downloaded.
343 nor Microsoft charge you anything more than your initial purchase of the game.

They have done plenty wrong, they aren’t selling these new maps because not a single person is gonna pay for forge maps and remixes.

Nope it was not a new engine, nor was it built from the ground up.
Stop spreading misinformation in an attempt to justify this.
3 years is still enough time to build from the ground up anyway.

They have done plenty wrong but, they’ve also done a good amount of good. All people seem to do is list the bad that 343i has done while ignoring the good. It’s because of this the Halo community has become so -Yoink!- split.

Sure, they have done some good, Halo 5 is a fun game, no doubt. But I am not gonna sit here and praise 343 for releasing an incomplete game. I am not gonna tell them what they are doing right, what does that accomplish. It does NOTHING to make the game better to praise them. Pointing out the PROBLEMS with the game is the only way the game gets better, not by praising them, that does nothing but an ego stroke.

But simply bashing them for every wrong they’ve done is going to get the Halo community nowhere. Look at the goods, look at the bads then, find a solution for the bads by looking at the goods. Find a middle ground and go from there.

The solution is to release the modes people want, and not hold them back in hopes to keep the game alive longer. Its not hard.

It must not be too obvious, since 343 isn’t doing it.
