343,
First I’d like to say I admire your hard work taking on the Halo franchise, it ain’t easy. You have done WONDERS with the MCC and made it one of the greatest games out there.
This being said, I have a question for you…WHERE IS HALO?
What I mean by that is, the game you have recently released is not the Halo we all know and love. Not because it doesn’t feel like it, but because of the massive amount of content missing.
My friends and I have been playing Halo since the beginning, and we’re planning on going through the campaign together upon release. Well, looks like that’s not happening. Where is CO-OP? CO-OP was one of the defining aspects of Halo and it always has been. And yet you released Halo WITHOUT CO-OP campaign. I suppose I should layout the content that is missing but has been in EVERY Halo game prior.
CO-OP
Custom Games
Forge
Multiplayer:
Big Team HEAVIES (one of the greatest playlists of all time)
Multi-team
Doubles
Infection
Shotty Snipes
Snipers
Oddball
Grifball
King of the Hill
Maps:
Why are there so few maps?
Where is:
Valhalla
Blood Gulch
Sidewinder
Lockout
I understand more maps are to come, however the lack of the content above is flabbergasting. In addition where are the weapons? Where is the SPARTAN LASER?!
I LOVE the gameplay of Halo Infinite. You have done an amazing job. But you have also cut the weapon diversity by 90%. I understand having fewer weapons, but our options feel bleak. Especially considering the new “shotgun” isn’t that fun. How can you play Shotties vs Swords if the shotgun can’t kill someone with one shot from point blank range? Speaking of the sword, the sword always wins in a one on one. Even though both parties have no shields and you melee, the sword still wins. Why? That doesn’t make sense.
At the end of the day, you have done an amazing job with Infinite, whether its the fantastic gameplay or the traditional feel of Halo.
HOWEVER, this will all be for not if the content above is not implemented. Modern games today treat the customers (fans) as though they are children that are only allowed a small amount of dessert after dinner. You are the parents, controlling our content, and we just have to deal with it. That isn’t what games are for. WE are just as important to Halo’s success as you are. We deserve more content. We have supported Halo financially throughout the years and will continue to do so. However the more we’re give just little bits of content here and there, people will become bored. Or maybe this is just the new standard of gaming, just like Call of Duty. I think the question is, does Halo want to be great simply because COD has become stale? Or does Halo want to be great because it puts fans first, offers the most content (as it always has) and reconfirm that Halo is and will always be the greatest franchise to date?
I hope something comes out of this. And I hope we see more content.
Best Regards,
A Fan
