Contacting Server to get latest matchmaking data

I have tried the following things.

  • Signed out and signed in a few times.

  • reinstalled mcc.

  • restarted internet and pc.

  • logged into 4 different accounts

Still not working. Need suggestions.

Having the same issue. I’ve tried the following fixes with none of them working so far:

•Turning relays on then off
•Changing the networking mode between LAN, then back to Xbox Live
•Rebooting the game
•Rebooting my computer
•Verifying the integrity of the game cache
•Changing DNS
•Clearing APP Data
•Launching the Game without Steam
•Launching Steam/ MCC in Administrator mode
•Signing in and out of profile
•Signing in with another profile then in with the original
•Starting a Campaign, then leaving it

Game worked fine until most recent Halo 3 addition.

Bumping this thread.

This bug happened right when the Halo 3 update happened and I haven’t been able to play anything online since.

Anyone have luck in finding a solution?? None of the usual tricks work. There also seems to be a problem in the options menu. The season will no longer load.

+1 to this

Having same problem, can’t play multiplayer or even look at the Season 2 rewards yet.

We better get a solution to this soon or I’m just gonna drop this. I love Halo, but I’m not wasting 80+GB on my computer if I literally cannot play it.

Yep I’ve been having this issue too.

I have found the fix if you have Windows 7. You need to download the Windows 7 Service Pack 2, which you can do here:

I’m still having the same issue, I’m also on windows 7, I’ve tried all of the above.

Service pack downloaded. Tried all the above fixes. Nothing has rectified the problem.

How’s your internet speed? A friend of mine is unable to play MP on his home internet cos the speed is terrible, but on his phone wifi he’s able to play.
Could be NAT type as well?

Finally got mine working yesterday. SP2 wouldn’t install in general for me through the links people posted here…I may have already had it on my PC too, so that could be why it didn’t install. (Win7 will only list SP1 even if you have SP2 installed)

What finally got it working for me is search “Windows Update” in your start menu then Check for Updates. I had 55 other updates to install, and after doing that I was able to finally connect to the servers.
