Contacting 343i/Microsoft directly about cheating.

Let’s be honest, we’ve all encountered that one hacker who’s blatantly using a j-tag to fly around the map to snipe people long range with a plasma pistol (of course it doesn’t make sense), and we file a complaint to Microsoft. The issue I notice is it very rarely does anything to remove the offending player from XB Live gaming unless they have a modded account to play online without purchasing live (or something along the lines of that).

In the case of Reach, outside of game stat trackers on this site, Bungie.net and 3rd party sites like Halotracker, you can’t submit proof this person is unfairly accumulating his/her kills. In many cases I have found players using an aim-bot, an infinite armor lock that allows for movement, automatic DMR rifles, etc. etc. Yet my complaints (and the many of my regular party group) rarely are answered, as we see the same modders several times a month in matchmaking.

So my question here is, if I were to record a game via video/TV screen capture device, is there anyone I can say, email it to? Or a forum to post it on as absolute proof that action needs to be taken against the offending player? Someone who manages accounts in Microsoft? Anything?

I’ve looked online for these answers and “Post to [insert game dev’s website here]'s forums” is all I’ve come up with, as is the case right this second here on Waypoint. Any help would be appreciated.

That sucks mate, and too my knowledge the only possible thing to do is, report and move on. Halo Reach and Halo 3 no longer receive the same support they used to, so detection for that kinda stuff has been dropped.

As much as I love the game, sometimes its just better to move onto the newer games. Because, dont you want to remember the good memories on reach? Why would you let hackers make new bad ones for you to remember.
