Constructive Feedback

Want to start a chain of constructive feedback instead of childlike crying in the forums.

My two cents.
Positives:

  • Gameplay: Looks Good - Music: Sounds Good - Open World: Has Potential ( it was one of my dreams for halo back in h ce days) (Open world is starting to get overdone, so as long as you guys have researched what makes open-world good then I’m sure it will be good). - Art style: Yeah not bad, looks like the h3 art style mixed with good elements from other halos.
    Concern:

  • Weapons: looks interesting but one thing in halo is that each item in halos sandbox had a unique purpose. My question is assuming the dmr and br still exist how are these weapons going to define themselves. One major reason why halo even with its failures is still greater than other games is that the items in the sandbox always flowed well with one another. - Ai phantom: not gonna lie, the tracking or pathfinding on that phantom was janky, I’m assuming with the open-world the polish on ai navigation still isn’t 100% but just something to put out there.
    Negatives:
Textures: I think one thing almost every onlooker can agree with is that the textures look to fake for the environment that is portrayed. This is the plastic problem everyone is complaining about which is what is keeping this game from a next-gen graphical title. I don’t think many people realise but the graphics shown especially with the lighting looks really good and those next-gen graphics are not going to be pushing much higher than what you guys have already produced. Instead, next-gen games are going to be primarily focusing on making the environments more immersive with physics and large loading ranges, to avoid seeing objects further away from loading. UE5 proves exactly this as the graphics look comparable to this gen except the environmental physics and rendering is much better.

To get to the point, the textures in this game is what holds the game back from the next-gen feeling. Textures on objects, items and environmental props are to clean for an environment that is supposed to be dirty. The banished are supposed to be rough looking from both experience and external modifications. Having the clean covenant look doesn’t really suit the faction in my opinion. Having more dirt, scratches and “blood” would make the game more immersive. The weapons should also replicate this feeling as well, by being both worn with scratches and is slightly dirty.
I don’t know the rating this game is going to be, but making it at least a M rated game would help in fixing these issues that many are complaining about everywhere.

Feel free to add your guy’s opinions down below, and try and keep constructive. At the end of the day, how far will “-Yoinking!-” get you.

Cheers. P.s English second language.

Before i forget, Colors as well is another issue. Do away with pastel colours and go for a more muted colour pallet. i.e instead of a bright red for brutes, try a maroon.

I cant believe theres bloom tbh. I really want it to be dropped entirely from halo, same with grenade hitmarkers

Next gen will be pushed much further. Ac odyssey (since we are in open world area now) looks much better on the last Xbox one. Plus they make 1 of those every year, here they had a new console and 5 years and couldn’t match them.

Debatable, i played that game maxed out on PC at 1440 with 60fps. That game had decent graphics for a Ubisoft game sure. In this game, I am already noticing many graphical features which games such as odyssey didn’t really take advantage of. Such as the lighting and how it interacts with the gun, or how the water looks on the mud etc. In regards to an odyssey, i hope that 343i have learned that big spaces don’t really mean -Yoink- if its just full of copy and pasted assets and missions which is one of the biggest criticisms odyssey has.
If the mute the colour pallet and redo some of the “plastic” textures I’m sure it will fall in line to what many would expect as a late gen or next-gen experience.

agreed with both, or at least a toggle option for hitmakers to make it easier for other fps players to adapt to halo gameplay.

I’m fine with hitmarkers, I dont need them personally. But grenade hitmarkers I cannot agree with. Theres too much information given when you know you got a hit with a grenade

I’m really worried the quality of encounters is going to plummet because of the open world aspects. You just dont see stuff like the Sierra 117 mission in an open world game.

I’m also wondering how diverse the environments we’re gonna see are. If it’s all the same plains, against the same groups of enemies… I dont know if I could even finish a game like that

I don’t want to copy my entire thing over again, so I’ll just post a LINK to my thoughts and constructive feedback.
