I just wanted to say, I like that 343 is taking halo back to its roots with fighting for power weapons, and no loadouts, or amor abilities; but also that its added features that all players have access to. I would like to share some feedback that I hope will be helpful.
I would like to say that the controls feel slightly sluggish in the beta at times, but I think the overall idea is right concerning the schemes, but I do want to say that I prefer the Halo 4 scheme in the beta so far, the only thing I do not like it that crouch/ground pound are on the same button, I would prefer ground pound be either mapped to the melee button or even make a mapping that is context sensitive where you press both shoulder buttons to activate, then you can aim with the right stick. That may not work, but I would appreciate a scheme where it is easier to aim for a ground pound. I like the default controls for the most part, but I need my grenades on the left trigger for halo.
In all honesty, I appreciate the thought, but I would not cry if the killcam got axed. It’s just not a good addition in my honest opinion, but I wont complain either way.
I did notice some drops in FPS during normal combat situations. I know its still a beta, but I would just like to share my concern that I really feel a smooth gameplay experience will make or break this game, and if there are a lot of jarring frame dips during combat, it not only is distracting, but it ruins the experience.
I think overall though 343 has all the right pieces in place to really polish this game and make it one of the better Halo games I have played, I like the incorporation of clambering, and thruster packs, they feel like a sprinkling of sugar, that doesn’t change the way that halo is played, just enhances the mobility. Good job on that. On the “ADS”, thank you for not making it a core staple of the game play like it is for Call of Duty. Call of Duty is a great series, but halo is better, and halo needs to keep its core game play intact.
