Constructive Criticism

I’ve played several games and have 3 basic criticism that would help Halo Wars 2 be a great console RTS.

  1. Access your production from anywhere in the map. There needs/should be a way to access your home resources without having to go back to your base. This is basic RTS 101 to allow you to multitask. Look at Command & Conquer 3: Tiberius Wars on xbox 360 as a perfect example. In that game you could click on the left trigger to call your production menu on the right part of the screen. There you can call on more units & upgrades without having to go back to your home base. This allows you to focus & micro on the field and multi task. It’s a pretty basic RTS feature that is lacking here.

  2. Increase population. 80 population is very low. Most RTS go up to 200. I know that frame rate is an issue here but there has to be a way. Use cloud servers to help offset the number of units on 1 screen? I don’t know but 80 units is extremely dull and leaves resources building up quickly.

  3. Give options to increase the pointer speed when holding down the left bumper. It helps with speed a bit but is currently too slow to get around quickly around the battlefield.
