Constant dropping from games.

Ok so i have been playing halo reach for quite some time. Recently i have been constantly dropped from games. It also said when ive been dropped that ive been disconnected from the current party. My network statuses are ( up stream bandwidth, AVERAGE) this has always been set to excellent but recently it has dropped to average. (NAT rating OPEN) and (PACKET LOSS RATE) is low/excellent.

do i need to speak to my ISP provider ??

This happened to me recently too and speaking to xbox.com it turned out to be a fault with xboxlive. Try redownloading your profile and clear your HDD’s cache this sorted it for me. You may also want to run a network check on your 360. Do this first and if you find a service alert its a strong possibility that its xboxlive at fault, try then redownloading your profile and clearing your cache. Post back and let me know if that fixes it.

Ok thanks i will try this. i now have been banned from playing matchmaking on reach tho :frowning:

Quit ban doesnt last long as Im sure your aware as your reply was 15mins ago. It would have only lasted 10mins.

You sir are a legend it worked thanks…

No problem Im just glad I could help  Believe it or not according to xbox.com you are supposed to perform regular cache maintenace, I never used to but as you have found out it helps. I also never knew until they told me that not cleaning your cache out can also make you lag in multiplayer games.

I have been having the same problems, and now its really starting to become a critical issue. I have been banned from Xbox Live twice now and I have followed your instructions on how to fix it, and still the problem persists. I have never had this happen to me on such a huge scale on my time playing Reach.

I did not have much of a problem at first, but then the banning started and then just recently, I was doing really well in a game and I was getting some challenges done, when I got DC’ed AGAIN and banned again! This is really starting to get frustrating and if this is a problem with Xbox Live and Microsoft, they really need to get to work on this.

Im not sure why its an issue right now I can only think that because of the new dashboard setup due for release soon that xboxlive is having some problems.

If I were you I would first check your xbox connection via the dashboard. When you have done that let me know if there is a service alert.

If there isnt or even if there is I would reset your router just to be on the safe side. Either check your connection again or just redownload your profile and clear your cache again. If that doesnt fix it I would say yours is more of a SP issue.

I did everything again, all looks good so far. Thank you again for any information. I tried rebooting my router before, but I guess the second try did it for now. Man though, I am sick of Reach again. I just got back into it and I have been banned off Xbox Live five times now for bull crap. Four for the crap on the lagging out, and once because like usual, there is so many dumb team mates out on Reach who once given the prompt to boot, they will boot without hesitation without regarding that they will lose without their team mate or the fact the betrayal was an accident.

I really hate how some of the players how Reach cannot comprehend playing in or dealing with teams, it sickens me. It makes me wonder how they work out side of video games in the real world where they need to cooperate with other human beings and all. Apparently a boot is considering a quit and I got banned for that as well. THANKS BUNGIE! I wish they would have made the quit function work when a player pressed the quit button, that counts as a quit, but I can understand about how players would be able to unplug routers. Ugh, this whole thing is making me sick now just thinking about it, now I wonder why I stopped playing Reach for a year; but I digress

Again though, thank you very much for the help. At least Invasion is still a fun mode to play on. Slayer is crowded with too many players determined to get that credit bonus, I need something for this head ache I have.

Ha I know what you mean Im so sick of reach its ridiculous yet I still find myself playing it day after day.

I used to have the same problem as you, in halo 3 I would play hours and hours of multiplayer and get a headache and just feel awful, yet I can play firefight all day and night plus you get loads of cr for playing it. Try a bit of firefight it may just be the break you need from mulitplayer
Glad to hear your problem seems ok for now. Let me know if you need any further help.

Yeah I know what you mean on Firefight, I play a load if it myself :). But ooooh boy, dang thing just happened again. I am starting to question now what really is the problem with this. Never have I had so much problems with connecting to a game before. My wireless connection is one of those connections that have a great ping but on the dashboard and PC’s it will say the bars are like two or three.

Well, until then, I guess I shall just wait and see what 343 or Microsoft will have in store if they plan to update any of this nonsense. Speaking of players and games, I hate how I am Hero rank, but most of my games I have had in all honesty, some of the worst team mates in a video game.

Example, games of Invasion where we defend, a point is being attacked, and NO ONE GOES TO DEFEND IT except me. They like to wait until we all get to the end when the core is about to be breached. One time I just had to kill a bunch of enemies who were attacking a point by myself since my team was waiting to kill rather than defend. They did not even excel at attacking either, so its not like they were good in that department either.

I remember I went into a area on Invasion by myself since my team was once again just killing (guys, its called Slayer, go play that), so I jumped in front of a whole team and had to kill them by myself. I hate that stuff.

I really hate when someone has a mic and never uses it so we can tell them something to help out on the team. Rather we hear them scream something in the back ground or in some cases a spanish man saying something to a young boy (No joke, that happened one time and his service tag was: DADD).

I really hate to be paired up with people who have no idea what they are doing, and the sad part is that is almost all my games a majority of the time. I always seem to be the only one trying and doing what I can. So that is why I love Score Attack and Campaign, because I do not have to deal with any idiots and I can just blast and relax.

Sorry if this post went on for quite awhile, I guess I wanted to vent this for awhile on a Halo forum. But man though, I do love campaign a lot along with Score attack, something about being alone is always more fun.

Just got banned a sixth time in the middle of fire fight.

I completely agree you can always tell the players that camp with the sniper or use a vehicle all game because they are positive in invasion. Theres no way if you go for the objectives you can be positive.
I agree also with the bad pairing of team mates in reach however if you know anything about mm you will know that it pairs you based on your BPR level so in otherwords if your BPR is high it will pair you with lower BPR players.
So that may be your problem.

Also I figured you were in firefight but dont worry too much about lagging out of games in that because of the firefight weekly you get people with super bad connections playing it. As a result even if your connection is good like mine you may still lag all game or get kicked.
Try firefight again after monday I bet its better.
Just for your info though on the connection screen of my 360 I have 5 full bars of connection I have over 80mb connection and over 10mb download speed and I will still lag if a bad connection player hosts firefight or multiplayer. That said you may want to check with your service provider and maybe get them to set you connection up for you, as that very well may be your problem.

Also I have a 360 slim but if you are using an older xbox 360 you should really be using the dual elite wireless adapter as it will give you a far better wireless connection to you router.

I hate to say it but maybe you should stay away from firefight, if your connection is not up to scratch firefight will always be brutal to your connection. You really do need a good connection to play it. I know its boring but try playing scoreattack for the weekly.

Or it may take longer for you to search but search in your own language I always find that not all but some players from Italy, France, Spain and Germany will make me lag and will also lock me in a game with only them so in otherwords just 2 of us in a game.
It may be easier on your connection to play with only other English plays for example.

So my BPR may be my problem as to why I am getting paired into situations like that. Would be interesting to find out that “pros” have a low BPR just so they pair up with one another or what not. But my BPR is 60, so maybe that has something to do with all of that. But as for my Xbox, I have a Reach Slim edition (and I got Legendary edition to boot, I am crazy like that for Halo in some cases.), so I do have the built in wireless.

I have noticed games never mess up with players that speak English, so that definitely may have something to do with a lot of it. Well, time for one more game of Score Attack to finish that 99 out of 100 rounds. Then I gotta work on some stuff. I have been working on a new forge map that I was making before my long break from Reach.

Hopefully I can finish my 11th ‘episode’ to my jump map series. Again though, thanks again for the advice on everything and the BPR, that helped cleared a lot of things up. Have a good evening.
