So get this, I’m sitting there playing Halo when I get disconnected. It just happens. I’ll be playing campaign, matchmaking, or spartan ops; it doesn’t matter 'cause I’ll get disconnected. I’m fed up with this problem because I’ve had it since launch. Consistently. Sometimes, I can’t go more than five minutes without a disconnect, other times I can play three or four matches before I get disconnected.
I’ve checked every network setting there is, but there’s nothing to diagnose any potential problem. I can connect and stay connected playing other games while connected to Live, but when I’m playing Halo 4, I get disconnected.
What’s beyond my comprehension is how I could possibly be the only person having this problem who’s posted it to this forum. I’ve seen things posted on Microsoft’s forums, and from what they’ve said, it’s got to do with the server capacity. If it were, wouldn’t more people be reporting this issue?
This actually keeps me from playing more often than not, since it could be mistaken as “habitual quitting,” and I’d face a ban for something completely out of my control. It shouldn’t have to come to this, and I’m determined to do whatever it takes to resolve this issue.
I’m glad I’m not the only one having these issues. I keep getting disconnected every 5 to 20 minutes while playing war games, I have no problems with other online games.
I made sure my connection is ok, otherwise I wouldn’t post here.
This happens when searching for players before a match or just in the middle of a game.
Since today I get disconnected from xbox live when I start up Halo 4, when I end up in the main menu. It won’t let me reconnect while I’m playing Halo 4. (It’s like when there is an update you have to install first, but there is none popping up)
When I go back to my dashboard it automatically reconnects to xbox live, so this is clearly Halo 4’s fault.
I’ve found no solution yet on the internet and this is getting pretty frustrating.
I have a similar problem with disconnects. I have not been disconnected in the matchmaking, but was disconnected quite a few times while in forge which was making it impossible to continue use forge. It also often disconnects if, after matchmaking, I go to main Halo 4 screen and within a couple of minutes it would disconnect. To reconnect, most of the times I have to quit the game and go to the home screen.

Nope, you aren’t alone. I’m using an Xbox wireless adapter and I’m getting kicked off of Live all the time - not just during Halo, but also watching Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Since it was happening during Reach also, I’m sure it is something to do with my adapter and not the net code or anything game related.
I am also getting disconnected from live, but only in Halo 4 spartan ops. Really annoying as I’m getting Legendary on all the episodes, but now I’m on the last 2 parts of episode 3 and about 20 minutes in, it disconnects me. So now every time I finish and load up again later, my achievements cannot be shown, doesn’t even register that I’ve completed the episode. Oh we’ll, guess I’ll just have to play more
I have been getting similar problems in war games spartan ops and campaign it does get very frustrating.
Sometimes its fine for a few hours then i have problems every game at other times
at first i thought it was my network but 2 hours of other games on matchmaking such as cod with no such problems.
Hope it gets sorted soon been like this for nearly 3 weeks now.
I’ve had the same problem, but when I go over to my fathers house where I have better Internet it works just fine, I think the servers are just to flooded and we all just have pretty -Yoink- Internet. That’s what I’ve found at least.
I’m having this issue, too. Every time an infinity game is about to load/start, I get disconnected from live. Sometimes it just happens while in the infinity lobby. But I have been unable to play a game online for several days and it makes me want to put my fist through the TV. If this is a server issue like many are saying here and elsewhere, then someone effed up.
Same thing here. Constant disconnects from Live, sometimes server error. Settings are fine and other games work fine. H4 says that NAT is sometimes open, sometimes moderate, altough it has always been OPEN. I can play one or two games now and then, but that’s it. Been like this couple weeks already. Basically I cant play online. This sucks, because game itself is way better than Reach. Makes me sad. And yeah, this issue is only with H4, other games work fine.
I have been having the EXACT same problem. I only get DCed with Halo 4, the time from each disconnects varies from 1 or 2 hours apart to every 3 minutes, started about a week ago and for some reason it is worst when I play with my clan in custom games. Please help me someone I just want to play Halo 4! I mean I payed for the game I deserve better service!
I have same problem. if i want to play war games i’m searching for people and after searching for people after 5 minutes it disconnects me from xbox live.

Now this problem just started happening recently to me, My xbox is connected to the router with a wire, my connection is great on every other game. But I literally can’t play online, at all. Any attempt ends in me being disconnected the second the game starts. Now at times it’ll kick me, bring me back to the main menu and show me that little message it shows after an update and then ital work. It’s like the game is spending hours trying to show me that little message and because it has failed to do so, it keeps bringing me to the main menu. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I can remember this happining to a couple people I played with on h4, might try asking bs.angel or trying 343’s forum, seems like they had to work with msn support(or such) to get the issue resolved
