The game will randomly crash every 1-3 games. Day 1 was great and crashed once, day 2 I have crashed 8 times. I cannot seem to find any patterns or reasons why, I’ve disabled overlays, unlocked frame rate, ran the game on the lowest settings but nothing seems to work.
I’m also getting banned for these crashes as the application completely freezes and then exits to desktop.
Anyone else have this issue?
I’m having the same issue. I never had a single crash during multiple flights of the beta. I thought it was just happening in BTB but today it happened in 4’s Quickplay as well. I’m running a Ryzen 2700x and 1080 on low settings. The game runs very smooth but then just crashes out of nowhere. I’ve checked resources and temps of CPU and GPU. Neither are getting pushed at all.
Just out of curiosity at what resolution are you guys playing at? I crashed well over 10 times and on low setting and I think I found a resolution. If you are playing on monitor 1440p I found that lowering the res by downscaling it so it was 1080p resolved that issue and also gained 20-30 FPS.
I running 1440p. I am experiencing these crashes as well. Unfortunately of my 10 ranking games I crashed about half of them so it severely hurt my rank.
I noticed that every time it crashed… it was when I was just about to respawn ie. My entire screen went green/yellow and the game just froze… hear a little bit of audio and then it eventually cuts out.
Could there be a feature similar to PUBG/Valorant where if a player disconnects, they can at least come back into the game? Unfortunately these crashes ruin not only my games but the rest of the team as well.
It’s so bad now that I’m afraid my account will just continue to get perma-banned just because this game isn’t optimized well for The PC community.
343, please fix this.
My game crashed so much that it says user is banned. This is unreal, and I just paid money for the battlepass but I have finished like 2 full games. 343 this is the number 1 issue to fix, I have a RTX 3090 and I9 10900k. Please fix this so I can actually play the game…
I didn’t crash at all on the 15th. Day 2 I crash randomly with an error in Event Viewer. Getting a KernelBase.dll error.
Try my suggestion. I know it’s not ideal but it worked for so far. Under video downscale res to 1080p should be 75% if at 1440p. I also updated my driver to Nvidia’s 11/16 release.

I make it through about 4-5 games, and then midway through the next, after running completely fine, it just crashes out of nowhere.
I’ve installed new drivers, uninstalled / installed the game, unchecked high res MP textures DLC, and still no fix
Try updating your graphics drivers.
Make you sure your graphic drivers are up to date. Also having the recommended system specs do help too.
My game has been crashing just trying to load it up. it crashes 2-3 times while trying to boot up then I make it to the menu and it starts to crash about 5 or 6 times. Then I get into games and it crashes 3- 4 times. It seems like I have to go through all of that just to get a few games in before its time to go to sleep to go to work and come home and start the process all over. I love the game so far and would really love a fix so I may enjoy it more. Have any fixes or patches come out? Everything on my computer is up to date and my computer is well within the specs of what is listed. I understand it’s a beta and it has its issues but this one seems to be the one that’s affecting tons of people and seems to not be getting talked about from 343.
Hello all, After around 15 crashes I decided to investigate what could be causing crashes and may have a solution for some. I don’t know if this will help but I was crashing every 1-2 games and found these things helped me to fix the issue.
-Wait for the game to connect to all services before searching for a game. (Make sure battle pass has loaded and you can see your spartan sitting in the lobby)
-Limit FPS to 60 in game, I have 144hz monitor but limiting to 60 has really helped with stability. (This had the largest effect out of any trick I tried, I also have a G-Sync monitor so turning off V-Sync may also help)
-Set high priority in task manager.
-Set CPU affinity to disable one core in task manager. (Stops CPU hitting 100% and crashing the game)
-Disable any in game overlays. (NVIDIA,Steam,Xbox)
-Uninstall high res texture pack.
These may not work for others but I played around 20 games after doing these steps and haven’t crashed once since.
Yep, it’s happening to me too. I have a GTX970, the game doesn’t run SUPER well but it gets 40-60fps on low settings which is fine with me. I’ve been sick this week so I’ve had nothing to do but play Halo. The first day was fine, no crashes. The next few days it would crash a couple times per day. Today it has been crashing constantly, and now I’ve got a matchmaking ban with no timer.
