Constant crashes within few minutes of launching the game (PC)

Anyone else having the same issue on PC, Steam?

Ever since the last event (Joint Fire), I am unable to actually play this game. It always crashes within a minute or two of launching, with no error message whatsoever. VERY rarely the game stays ok up to half an hour before it freezes and crashes again. (I did notice in Task Manager that GPU usage spikes to 100% for a moment before the crash tho)

The game worked perfectly for me during the Winter Event. Interestingly enough, this crash is very reminsicent of the one from 3 months ago where faulty NVIDIA drivers were a culprit. Except now it’s happening to me months later (after it’s supposed to be fixed) and a handful of other people.

Tried literally everything, downgrading drivers, reinstalling, disabling High-Res DLC, lowering settings, turning off all the overlays (NVIDIA, MSI, Discord etc.) but nothing helps… I am literally unable to play this game, not multiplayer or campaign. :frowning:

I already made a ticket, but was told they cannot solve it and will keep me posted, so was just wondering if it’s just me?

I was in a similar case with none of my settings saving when I closed the game: I tested everything you have mentioned. I opened my ticket in 2021 and they have still no answer.

The only thing that worked for me was to format windows and delete all the files of the running disk.

Did you try verifying the game files?

What’s the specs of your build?

I was having the same issues and sent the bucket ID from the view all problems report on windows to the appropriate people. In the meantime, I have found that enabling Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling has dramatically minimized the frequency of the hangups. But not fully fixed it.

Interesting, I am not too PC savvy, so where do I enable that, if you don’t mind me asking?

Also sorry for the triple posting, I haven’t figured out yet how to multi quotes here since I am new haha

i5 12600KF
32GB DDR4 RAM
NVIDIA 3080TI

Yup, I did many times didn’t help unfortunately.

I’m on Windows 11 but it should be similar on Windows 10 as well.

Settings - gaming - game mode - graphics - under default settings click “change default graphics settings” - enable hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.

Are you sure you’re on the latest Nvidia drivers? Even if you are, maybe try doing a clean driver install. And disable any overlays.

Yes, I am. And yes I use DDU when installing new drivers. In fact, I just used it again yesterday to upgrade to the newest version - nope still, crashes.
And yes, again like I said in the OP, I already disabled all possible overlays there were on my PC. No dice.

One thing I noticed tho:

The game crashes with no error message, but in the EVENT VIEWER it points to something called “KERNELBASE.dll”.

I tried googling the issue a bit, but none of the solutions worked. Turning off antivirus, uninstalling armoury crate etc. and it’s apparently a very general error that has something to do with the anticheat…?

i have the error as well from what my basic knowledge ive only sorta by passed the problem on my system some what. ive underclocked my system and seems to prevent the problem from happening quicker but it could also be the game trying to access kernel based systems which windows defender or any antivirus system is blocking it causing the crash. i could bge totally wrong tho.
