MCC has a great system; if you unlock a tier with shoulder pads… you get both the left and the right. I know, looking at how Infinite does it, offering the same item over multiple tiers, it seems crazy to consolidate them into a single tier. Where’s the fun in that? Who doesn’t love unlocking the same item multiple times? Or that in the EP you will be physically unable to unlock both shoulder pads in the same week, nay, the same month…Here’s a list of every item that appears in multiple tiers:
Battle Pass
SAP/EVA - Tiers 7 and 8 (seriously… 1 tier appart. WHat’s the point?)
SAP/SNP - Tiers 32 and 33 (again, really?)
UA/Argathius - Tiers 46 and 49
SAP/ODST - Tiers 62 and 63
SAP/MKVI - tiers 83 and 83
It doesn;t seem like a lot but thats 10 tiers, 1/10th of the battle pass. Seriously, 10 tiers that could easily be 5. This would then open up 5 tiers that could have been the Commando, Security, Operator and Grenadier shoulder pads. Seriously, you have a BP for Noble Team but don’t offer the shoulder pads for three of them? You can’t even blame MTX for this because the armour’s literally part of the paid track, they just want you to spend more money to complete the look
Event Pass
Samurai Emblem - Tiers 4, 9, 14 and 19
Gatekeeper shoulders - Tiers 10 and 15
Whispered Sky coating - Tiers 24 and 28
This is worse then the BP because it’s nearly 1/3 of the tiers as just repeats. That’s 8 tiers of the EP that can be consolidated down into 3. Seriously, if you are that desperate to pad out the EP, maybe it should have just been 15 tiers long instead of 30. Maybe one of the leaked paid armour bundles for the Yoroi-core could have been injected into the free pass instead to make it worth being 30 tiers.
Either way, in both the BP and EP there’s no reason why the same item should be spread over multiple tiers. and just seems lazy
For a system they bragged about not feeling like a grind & having plenty of customization choices they sure did oversell it, I understand a free-to-play titles has to incentive purchases but this is just terrible design.
To me it seems like there wasn’t enough content to go around for the battlepass and to fill the shop. I totally agree, having to grind a little further to get your second ODST shoulder that you already grinded to 60+ to get is insane.
Guarntee there was enough, just found its way into seperate paid bundles instead. I mean, not like they managed to make 8 completely free 100 tier battle passes for MCC
That’s what I’m saying, there was definately enough content to meet a feature rich battlepass, but not enough to achieve their aggressive monitization at the same time
A seriously can’t stand people who try to defend the agressive monitization aye. Just remember, campagin by itself still costs full retail that included MP in the purchase inb previous Halos.
Multiplayer isn’t as free as people try to defend it to be
It’s a sad state of affairs and I’m currently trying to justify to myself any reasons to buy the campaign, because right now I can’t justify £60 on just the campaign. That’s 6 battlepasses for the future for example.
The Battlepass realy feels way to empty for the amount of time you spent with it. The Tenrai Eventpass shows the problem even stronger where we get maybe 3/4 of a Armorset trough progression while maybe 3 Sets worth of armor are behind shop Bundles that are only time limited, without any preview when they show up.
