Consistent settings for Halo 5?

Indirect promotion of my latest commentary, but I’d like to have a discussion about the benefit of having a game where the “out of the box” or default settings are best for both casual and competitive play. Aside from fun gamemodes like flood or grifball, I think Halo 5 should have consistent settings for everyone! Have a listen and let me know what your opinion is.

I’d say it’s best for the series. I know people can usually edit maps to be a little bit “better” in forge and probably make them more competitive for events and what not, but I know one thing that turns people away from competitive scenes are the constant changing of weapon spawns, spawn times, radar usage, damage, player speed, and whatever else people will be able to do with the Forge that comes with H5.

The people who play casually will have an easier transition into the competitive scene and thus (maybe) have a more enjoyable experience because they won’t be confused by having 100 different types of Slayer like H4 does.

I totally agree with both of you, I’m kind of starting to dip my toes in competitive Halo and it would be much easier if it was basically the same as legendary slayer br. Pros like ghandi have said that for the reason bo2 and the earlier halo’s were so sucessfull was because they played the same settings competitively as out of the box.

Hey Del, I really like your commentaries! Keep up the good work! I was personally thinking about starting some commentaries down the road when I’m no longer too lazy to do so.

Exactly! Not saying they’re can’t be well made forge maps, but its confusing when they play differently on a game by game basis. Trying to switch from infinity slayer to proving grounds is a completely different experience. How is anyone new to the game who started in infinity supposed to make that leap without being miserable for a ton of games while they relearn?
