I basically have had a couple month break from Halo Infinite due to playing other games such as the Witch Queen & Elden Ring, started to come back to Infinite in the run up to Season 2…
Now finding 90% of the games I am playing are well over 100m/s Pings? I used to be on 18-20m/s? Has something happened? Is there a fix for it?
I play on PC. Any help would be apperiated.

Depends where you live. I hear people all over the world are having problems with high ping. Including people from the US. However if you are 100ms worth of ping away from a US server then you have no hope. The game population is too low to sustain good connection games at an international scale.

This is a lie, but keep that fib going for the mental right!
Overall I have yet to have any issues with the ping, but it is a thing for others.
Based in the UK. Well theres a sense of relief that its a known issue. Fingers crossed its fixed soon!
Dude, it’s long since left the top 10 most played games on xbox.
Honestly, that one’s a surprise since xbox is Halo’s home turf. Regardless, that isn’t a lie.
I uninstalled Halo Infinite on my Xbox One X over this exact reason about 3 weeks ago.
80% of my matches it was connecting me to a European server (Cyrillic and German gamer tags) that is likely in Amsterdam with 250+ ms ping times. The other 20% were at 25 ms ping times and from the halo 5 / MCC server selector ping times, that would be Seattle. I’m Alberta Canada and Seattle is the closest Server farm to me.
I filed multiple bug reports which remain unresolved.
At this point, 343 has no solution and doesn’t seem at all concerned that the game is unplayable.
I’m convinced that it’s related to the geoblocking update.
They have made everyone ping the US servers to get matched, but I reckon that the game isn’t categorising people into the territories properly when creating the matches.
Obviously no evidence for this.
But it astonishes me that Canadians like yourself and US are getting as high as 80% matches with a European server.

Yeah I’m on 1gb hardwired internet and I’m getting 100+ pings regularly in Europe. Could be population, could be net code. Either way it is pretty annoying
I’ve been getting high ping as well. Here is a day worth of playing games ping list. The list below is taking the lowest ping number during the game, for instance when I say my ping was 80, it reality it was jumping around between 80-83 ping and not counting any temporary lag spikes. The average ping for me in a during day is 87 ping. Now most people will think. "Hey well you must live in the EU and that’s why you have high ping. I actually live in Washington state. Now with that said the lowest ping I can get is 28ms. The 3 servers that are by me give me 28, 36, and 46 ping. Generally speaking 1/50 games I will get ping at 28ping and never get the 46 ping, and mostly get 36 ping server (nearly never get any of these). This is absolute bull !@#$. We need to be able to pick a region such as west coast servers… I’m not even asking to choose specific server… I just wanna be able to pick region. This is nearly impossible to play. I know my shots will generally register…but when I’m lagging with 87 ping on average I will lose a lot of Br Fights because they actually get first shot off before I even start shooting, and lose melee fights. I’ve had games where Ive done most damage, shots hit and fired with 60% hit accuracy, and go negative because I can’t finish my br fights

I don’t even wanna play anymore because of it. Its not playable at a competitive lvl. I know some people have it way way worse then I do… and would be happy to play at 87 ping on average… but lets be honest here this isnt playable for anyone. anything over 50-60 ping is at a huge disadvantage already. When you’re playing at a high lvl where everyone is 4-5 shooting everyone…its gonna make a huge difference.
