Considerations before leaving the game

Definitely not interested but I would like to leave my thoughts on Halo infinite. I have been playing for 20 years now, I am not a “pro”, but I can say that with this chapter there have been many steps backwards. These are my considerations:

There is no option to choose what kind of ranked game I want to play, I don’t want to be forced to capture the flag or conquer the zone.

I don’t know technically how servers work, but when I was playing Halo 5 the lag was almost non-existent and the games were very smooth, which on Infinite I can’t say because there are often lags or sudden drops in frames.

There are no maps, it is not possible that after 6 years of development if you play ranked games there are three maps, this thing is painful.

The crossplay; it is important to be able to deactivate it. I bought a console and I would like to be able to decide whether to compare myself with people who play on PCs or not. It is deleterious to continue forcing people to crossplay.

I think free to play killed the game. Yes, maybe the number of players in the first week was high, but then it dropped drastically and this should make 343 think. Having said that I think I will dedicate myself to other games, luckily we have several FPS and if I should get the desire for Halo I will do some classified massacre in Halo 5

This video is worth a watch. Touches a lot of points as to why Halo 3 was not only the best Halo, but set a bar that current games can’t even touch. It launched complete and with tons of content.

And also… 343 didn’t develop it.

3 is definitley the bar to reach for and break. Reach is my example of what a bare minimum launch should achieve and follow up with since I rank it right behind 3 for most situations.

Really long video but, also worth the watch. Games today are just not made the same.

I agree, Halo 3 is beyond doubt! I was talking about Halo 5 because it was produced by 343.

Halo 3 wasn’t great on launch with screwed up playlists, few game modes, connection issues, messed up Melee functionality. What it had going for it though was that it built on to what Halo 2 already had (wasn’t starting over like Infinite seems to be), it had predictable movement and simpler controls/actions, and most maps were versatile which made it seem like more maps than it really was. The one thing it took years for Bungie to grasp was BR starts, especially in BTB, which MLG was right on to fixing. There were many things I could NOT stand about Halo 3, but will also admit, despite how bad connections were in Halo 3 also, that Infinite is far behind what Halo 3 was.

It may of not be perfect at launch, but it was great. I was 25 at that time, I really don’t ever remember complaining about anything in Halo 3. Still, 15 years later and Halo 3 is still (arguably) the best Halo to date.
